With a shrinking EPA, Trump delivers on his promise to cut government

President Trump is just completing another campaign promise. Snowflakes can't deal with that.

Fender guitars were made with ash bodies. Ash is an open grain lumber which requires grain filling for finishing purposes. Around 1956/1957 Leo switched to alder bodies. Alder is a closed grain lumber which requires no grain filler.
This switch from ash to alder saved time, effort, and money. Most of my Fender style stuff have alder bodies but I do have some with ash, and one of my Teles has a mahogany body. Any combination of body, neck, fingerboard materials will offer a different sonic signature but the differences can be subtle, to many ears. I have two Strats that are made with basswood bodies; basswood being inexpensive & not typically considered to be a 'tone wood.' I will have to say these two Strats are very lively, even loud played acoutically/unplugged. The basswood does seem to have a very aged, open, ringing, very resonant quality. I found this to be surprising.

I have seen many bands over the years & some guitar players really like to change out guitars, a lot. ZZ Top's Billy Gibbons is well known for playing a ton of different guitars. Before Billy went 'custom' he played a lot of old vintage gear. Billy got me interested in the so called 'Korina' (white limba) guitars from the Gibson 'Ted McCarty' era; the white Limba timbered Flying V, the Explorer, and the Futura. I have played these styles in differing timber configurations; limba, mahogany, and mango. My Vs are limba aka Korina & mahogany, my Futura is mahogany, and my Explorer is mango. I have owned Explorers in all three timber options. The guy (vocals/guitar) from Blackberry Smoke changes guitars nearly every tune; it's pretty cool.

My problem is I have permanent GAS. It's a terrible disease. LOL

It's true, the guys with the big bucks go through hundreds of guitars. Our local music store used to be a big thing many years ago. Whenever Peter Frampton came to town, he headed right for our music store. There they kept the very best for Frampton. Money was no object if it was a guitar he really wanted.

They used to get big music celebrities all the time. They had pictures on the wall surrounding the store with all their famous visitors.

Music stores had character back then. Today, these mega stores start out with a million dollars of inventory. They put all the smaller guys out of business. The people that work there have no idea WTF they are talking about, and it's very impersonal. There is no bartering with these people. The price is X, and you pay it or you don't.

Yeah, I buy off the internet & I typically buy used; not new. One thing about purchasing used is the price point is typically MUCH lower than new. I only pay what I want to pay & if the price goes higher, then no big deal; it's not like I 'need' another guitar. LOL
Years ago I lived in Dallas, walked into the GC On North Central Expressway just across from SMU. I went in to buy strings; nothing else. I spotted a '62 reissue Strat that had great specs & fantastic lumber; 2 pc./center seam body & a nice flamey maple neck under the rosewood fingerboard. It was an exceptional example just for the lumber alone. I picked it up, played it unplugged, sat it back down, and went to get my strings.
I told the sales guy I really liked the '62 reissue & I told him if they would give me 40% OFF MSRP I would take it. He did some numbers and told me, "33% off is the best I can do." I told him thanks for the offer & I passed. I got my strings, paid for the strings, and was walking out the door, and I heard the sales guy say, "hey, you still want that guitar?" I said, yeah, at 40% off. I got the Strat for the 40% off. LOL. All I wanted was strings. That's how brutal GAS is. LOL

it will be strangely entertaining to watch all of these fine, upstanding dumb asses dying from all types of cancers & dreaded diseases after Trump has eviscerated the EPA.
LOL
The EPA is nothing but a control institution to make Americans lives miserable so shut the fuck up

This isn't the times of the industrial revolution. The power of social media makes it impossible for companies to profit off of dangerous goods and services. If you loons want an all powerful nanny state I suggest one of failed socialist utopias.

make sure to keep your family down wind from a giant coal burning electric plant, right across the street from a lead smelting operation, let them consume water from a polluted water source from a Super Fund site, and make sure to take them on vacations in places like Iraq where the wide open spaces are polluted with 'Made In America' depleted uranium. If they start to grow horns then they can be in the movies.
Lol
The coal burning plants in this country are in Wyoming mostly, they are not harming anybody there so shut the fuck up

Cut government?
Yeah, the West Wing is still half empty and 38 critical ambassadorships (including South Korea) remain vacant.
Nobody wants to work for the Orange Dolt ...
So much winning! :rolleyes-41:

These idiots would drink radioactive water if trump told them it was good for them.
and you'd believe obama wasn't spying on people if he simply tells you he didn't do it.

Obama wasn't spying on people - That has already been determined.
Go back to bed

What the hell do guitars have to do with this EPA thread?

post #9 will give you a clue.

I am well aware of the stupidity of government bureaucrats when they gave Gibson hell over the wood they were legally and properly using.
No doubt, The fucking collective thinks they know what’s best for the individual. Obviously they have no clue.

Political correctness has destroyed the world

I understand you are too stupid to comprehend things like The Lacey Act, CITES, Appendix I, Appendix II, etc.

Maybe, one day, you will 'grow up' and learn what the real world is all about.

Congrats for being an ignorant moron.
