With Election Over, Obama Announces Medicare Cuts to Fund ObamaCare

During the 2012 election campaign, Democrats denied that ObamaCare made $716 billion in cuts to Medicare in order to provide funding toward $1.9 trillion in new entitlement spending over the next ten years.

In an announcement on Friday, however, the Obama administration revealed that it would be significantly reducing funding for Medicare, a move that one health insurance analyst said “would turn almost every plan in the industry unprofitable.”

So the LIAR in chief LIED>.

This is common knowledge that the ACA will save medicare substantially. These are not cuts, they are spending that is no longer needed.

Lay off the right wing propaganda from Breitfart and educate yourself

Except for the reality of the situation is quite the opposite.. ACA will cost about 200% more than announced while raping medicare.. not to mention costing the citizen more than what was anticipated with the normal raises to insurance plans

And you are one to talk about using propaganda sites as 'proof'

He did this a year or two ago. $750 billion taken out of Medicare "To save it"

I can think of lots of programs he could take money from so he can save them. How bout the White House tour Fund. That'll save it. Cut that fund so he can golf more. Then maybe the WH will reopen to the public again.

The GOP hates medicare and call to destroy it on an almost daily basis. Why aren't you applauding this? :eusa_think:

ObamaCare doesn't raise Premiums for seniors, if anything the AARP has predicted that it could hold the costs of of Medicare Part B premiums down, if not lower them. The official formula for determining Medicare Part B premiums was established by Congress years ago and has not been negatively affected by ObamaCare.

ObamaCare Medicare: Obamacare and Medicare?

tell that to the many seniors who are on the Medicare Advantage plan....

Democrats have long been hostile to the Medicare Advantage program, which allows seniors to get their Medicare coverage through plans administered by private insurers. Today, more than a quarter of retirees get their coverage through Medicare Advantage, and the program has experienced rapid growth over the past decade. Richard Foster, the recently-retired chief actuary of the Medicare program, has projected that Obamacare’s cuts to Medicare Advantage would force half of its current enrollees to switch back to the old, 1965-vintage Medicare program. Robert Book and James Capretta estimate that this will cost enrollees an average of $3,714 in 2017 alone.

Citing a pro-Obamacare website doesn't add any credibility ya know.

Of Obama and his people lied about it.

They had to claim that Romney was going to hurt Medicare to scare the Seniors in South Florida to vote for him. He needed those electorial votes.

And the media wanted Obama in Office again, so they didn't call him on it.

Obamacare Medicare reform improves and expands Medicare for seniors. The ObamaCare Medicare cuts are estimated at $716 billion. Those cuts are reinvested into Medicare and ObamaCare to improve care for seniors and close the Medicare Part D " donut hole" among other things. Let's take a look at what the ObamaCare's Medicare cuts and reforms really mean for Seniors and how ObamaCare will impact Medicare and Medicare Advantage?

Obamacare is a ponzi scheme. The costs associated with the program will be shifted onto the young and healthy, with the "savings" being entirely imaginary. I don't know why some people can't understand this, but then I remember that those people are most likely liberals, and liberals don't understand anything that doesn't make them feel good inside.

Because what is being cut from medicare is being spent over again 4 fold... even more of a waste

Medicare has to be kept for those already of retirement age... and should start to be phased out for those 40 or 45 and under.. it is a drain and a waste and with what the cost is plus what the government spends in addition (thus taken by taxation), other plans can be bought

To want something phased out is not quite the same as wanting it cut and replaced with even more spending, on an even worse plan that government also should not be doing, is quite another

Ted Cruz Slams Medicare Cuts In Paul Ryan’s Budget | TPMDC

Sahil Kapur March 13, 2013, 1:25 PM 10809

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) on Wednesday aggressively criticized the Medicare cuts under Obamacare — cuts which are also included in the House GOP budget that was unveiled Tuesday. In echoing the familiar Republican attack line on the President, Cruz did not reference the budget proposal from House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan (R-WI) that adopts the same cuts. ...

so you're saying that AARP is going to make up the difference in cost.....?

"Obamacare improves and expands Medicare for seniors"....how so for the Advantage plan seniors....? i think what that really means is that alot of seniors will have to give up their Advantage plans which they like and essentially be forced to go onto Obamacare....i.e. Medicaid....which everyone knows is crap and going broke...
