.......are any defenders of all things Don troubled by the acquittal of Individual 1 in the second impeachment by cowed Repub senators? That is, given the impending indictment by Jack Smith for events surrounding 1/6 specifically, and the failed coup generally.

1. wtf is "cowed"?
2. You need to clarify the "bullshit" indictments by Jack Smith.
3. Recent evidence shows that Trump was right to ask for an investigation into the Biden Crime Family (both impeachments were baseless)
4. Another Trump thread so we don't focus on the crimes being proven that the Biden Crime Family committed. Impeach Traitor Joe.

Meh, things will work out, lawyers will get richer. Same song-n-dance.

cause (someone) to submit to one's wishes by intimidation.
"the intellectuals had been cowed into silence"

As in Repub senators fully understood what a grip Trump had, and still has, on the voting base. So when they voted to acquit they were voting for their own political future in the POT.

Smith is a liberal hack who has had most of his stuff overturned and rejected.
That sounds like it came straight from the Trump PR dept. He typically tries to denigrate the investigators because he knows he is guilty.

Of course not.

The lie that Trump is ‘under attack’ by political opponents and the lie that Trump is a ‘victim’ of some nefarious conspiracy is comprehensive among conservatives, applied to both Trump being impeached twice and being subject to a Federal indictment.

Your OP is packed with so much fallacy it's impossible to respond to it except to point this out.

Right. I just think it's poetic justice that he is being indicted for essentially the same crimes Repub senators let him off the hook for. It's a bad look for every senator who voted to acquit. Will they be held to account by their constituents for their votes? Absolutely not.

Wow, "cowed", a liberal's specialty.

The salient question being...............was there enough evidence presented at the time of the impeachment to warrant a conviction? Unequivocally, yes. That's why 7 Repub senators voted for conviction.

Trivia question. Who said..."This impeachment trial is not about any single word uttered by President Trump on Jan. 6, 2021. It is instead about President Trump's failure to obey the oath he swore on January 20, 2017. His actions to interfere with the peaceful transition of power — the hallmark of our Constitution and our American democracy — were an abuse of power and constitute grounds for conviction."

I am not a defender of all things Orange, but I really thought the second impeachment was a farce as will be any indictment of Trump related to January 6th unless they can directly connect him to planning a violent protest. Nothing would surprise me from the clown car of people around him by that point, but unless you can put Trump's fingerprints on the starting gun, then nope.

You're spamming your own ineptly undertaken thread.

People typically do this when they're incompetent and/or trolling.

The second impeachment was a grotesque farce, as was the first.
