Woke San Francisco DA Offers Excuses For Infamous Walgreens Shoplifter

You have something against someone voicing their opinion?

His opinion shouldn't interfere with his job performance. He swore to do the job, if he can't, he should resign and let someone else take over who can.

.

Who said he was allowing his views interfere with his job though? He just voiced an opinion.

"“When this particular individual was arrested, and we got the full police history, it turned out that he had been detained by the police previously after another Walgreens incident, and they didn’t arrest him because Walgreens had said they did not want to press charges in that prior case. The police had known who he was for months.”"

The office of public prosecutions and the police have a very narrow and specific job to do. Police investigate and arrest suspected law-breakers. Prosecutors take input from the police to prepare a brief of evidence against the accused for a court.

Neither police nor prosecutors can decide, publicly, on the guilt or innocence of the accused. To do so prejudices the state's case,

When a prosecutor is at odds with the police, particularly in a public forum, the system is denigrated.

Where did he refuse to do his job?

He has video proof of a known person committing a crime, he should issue a warrant for arrest and prosecute the criminal. The store doesn't need to press charges.

Where did he say he was at odds with the police? He just said the store didnt press charges. BTW as the DA he is above the police and not their peer. He should be bringing his public option to bear on prosecution. At times he is going to differ with the cops. To always be in lock step with them is where systemic racism and police brutality thrive.

No need to waste taxpayer money prosecuting someone the victim doesnt want to prosecute.

Ok, *sigh* Come on now libs...This kind of thing can't be acceptable to you?

The consquence for this behavior is going to result in closing stores in "underserved communities" and less choice for those people...But, for this DA to basically blame the store for what this criminal is doing is beyond the pale....What an asshole...
This person needs to be removed from his job as fast as a smash & grab gang empties the front window of a store...

Another example of the insane shit that turns so many people off to the Left and got Trump elected.

A pox on both houses.

I hope the people of San Francisco get exactly what they voted for and that city gets ravaged with crime.
Agreed.

There's got to be some sort of explosive end point in all this nonsense.

There's so much on the go that's leading us down this path - take your pick :

Biden open door immigration policies (and amnesty).
Essentially trivialising shop lifting and theft from stores.
Defunding the Police.
The aggressive teaching of CRT in schools as there's only so far you can down white people before something gives.
and another interesting dynamic from the likes of BLM who want more and more and more but there will come a time when they won't get their way and the system says no to them.

I think fireworks will be coming. It's just a matter of when.

It will be enjoyable and hopefully that's when the reset button comes out and we return to normal but as always my worry is the damage that's done before the end points crop up.

Like the DA said, What if he isnt a criminal? What if he is just crazy?

He is a criminal, IF there are other factors to consider, that's done as part of due process. You're just not very smart, are ya?

.

Why would he issue a warrant if no one wanted the guy prosecuted?

That was said for a previous theft, not the one in the video. But his job is to prosecute criminals, not look for excuses not to. And the police should be arresting them.

Wrong.....again.

(1) No person is criminally responsible for an act committed or an omission made while suffering from a mental disorder that rendered the person incapable of appreciating the nature and quality of the act or omission or of knowing that it was wrong.

So is this guy not being prosecuted by the DA for the new incident? The DA wasnt looking for excuses. He was asked his opinion and he gave it.

Damn man, you really are a fucking idiot. Do you have any fucking clue how the criminal justice system works? I think not.
