You have something against someone voicing their opinion?
Who said he was allowing his views interfere with his job though? He just voiced an opinion.
"“When this particular individual was arrested, and we got the full police history, it turned out that he had been detained by the police previously after another Walgreens incident, and they didn’t arrest him because Walgreens had said they did not want to press charges in that prior case. The police had known who he was for months.”"
Where did he refuse to do his job?
Where did he say he was at odds with the police? He just said the store didnt press charges. BTW as the DA he is above the police and not their peer. He should be bringing his public option to bear on prosecution. At times he is going to differ with the cops. To always be in lock step with them is where systemic racism and police brutality thrive. When a prosecutor is at odds with the police, particularly in a public forum, the system is denigrated.
No need to waste taxpayer money prosecuting someone the victim doesnt want to prosecute. He has video proof of a known person committing a crime, he should issue a warrant for arrest and prosecute the criminal. The store doesn't need to press charges.
.
Where has his opinion interfered with his job?His opinion shouldn't interfere with his job performance. He swore to do the job, if he can't, he should resign and let someone else take over who can.
.
No need to waste taxpayer money prosecuting someone the victim doesnt want to prosecute.
Where has his opinion interfered with his job?
Like the DA said, What if he isnt a criminal? What if he is just crazy?Getting criminals off the street is never a waste of taxpayer money
Why would he issue a warrant if no one wanted the guy prosecuted?Did he issue a warrant for this documented theft? That's his job.
.
This person needs to be removed from his job as fast as a smash & grab gang empties the front window of a store...Ok, *sigh* Come on now libs...This kind of thing can't be acceptable to you?
The consquence for this behavior is going to result in closing stores in "underserved communities" and less choice for those people...But, for this DA to basically blame the store for what this criminal is doing is beyond the pale....What an asshole...
Agreed.I hope the people of San Francisco get exactly what they voted for and that city gets ravaged with crime.
Like the DA said, What if he isnt a criminal? What if he is just crazy?
Why would he issue a warrant if no one wanted the guy prosecuted?
Wrong.....again.He is a criminal, IF there are other factors to consider, that's done as part of due process. You're just not very smart, are ya?
.
So is this guy not being prosecuted by the DA for the new incident? The DA wasnt looking for excuses. He was asked his opinion and he gave it.That was said for a previous theft, not the one in the video. But his job is to prosecute criminals, not look for excuses not to.
.
He's the one choosing not to prosecute these people, dumb ass, and he said he wouldn't when he was campaigning.Who said he was allowing his views interfere with his job though? He just voiced an opinion.
Wrong.....again.
