Ever watch the movie Game Change? Steve Schmidt was quoted as saying that the movie was so accurate that it was like having an out-of-body experience. This is one of the men who actually helped select her to be the VP candidate acknowledging that Palin knew absolutely nothing about current affairs and was utterly unprepared to be VP.

She was anything but a dolt. When she made her acceptance speech at the Republican Convention, she had to do it from memory and a few notes as her teleprompter was not working. If you bothered to look the unedited transcript of the interview that she did with Charlie Gibson, she gave smart answers that were edited to make them look incoherent. Gibson even lied about a question that Palin answered correctly. Couric also lied about Palin by stating that Palin said that she could see Russia from her house. A quote she never made. She did a better job in her debate with McCain than McCain did with any of his debates with Obama.

The media targeted Palin for destruction because she was a female conservative. That is something liberals will never tolerate. They did everything they could to destroy her.

Steve Schmidt was a great source. He and the other bluebloods had to blame someone for THEIR loss so they settled on Palin. I wouldn't be surprised if he and other bluebloods gave Halperin a lot of the material for his book. Of course he is unemployed because of sexual harassment.
