Jon Huntsman did.
YOU didn't answer the question...Have YOU...or WILL you?

I doubt it.

I'm 65, and I served. You should be able to guess when.
Don't care when. If you're HONEST?

Then *I* Salute your service.

Korea and 'Nam, I suppose...same as my Father.

Every male in my family has since the inception of this Republic.

The most famous in my Family has a County named after him in NY State.

He served under Washington.

Schuyler County, New York...

I'm no poser. I'm a disabled vet from the Vietnam Era. The rest is private.

Understood.

I am of the same mind...My dad didn't survive his two tours.

It would depend on what the service was. In 2002, George W Bush said (George W. Bush: Address Before a Joint Session of the Congress on the State of the Union)

"My call tonight is for every American to commit at least 2 years, 4,000 hours over the rest of your lifetime, to the service of your neighbors and your Nation."

I've still got plenty of time left, but I don't think I'm on track to make either 4,000 hours or two years (about 17,500 hours) unless one takes a fairly loose definition of service (I like to think my work serves humanity, but I don't think that's what he was talking about). In any event, his call didn't particularly inspire me. I doubt any president's would have.

An absolute yes/no answer is impossible, there are some things I would do for free, other things I could not even be conscripted to do, whomever happens to be the president is irrelevant.

If Charlie Sheen was President....it would be relevant. For me anyway.

I applaud anyone serving in the military, I served myself, but I do not feel it makes anyone's political opinion carry more weight.

I'd serve my nation, but not the jews or globalist ever! Nation building in the middle east is doing nothing but serving the globalist and israel. I would fight intil death any nation that invaded our land.

Everyone that says no in this poll makes me sick.

Yes, if it was bombing little kids in Africa or something similar that is not morally correct I would agree, but anything that is defending your country, the one you live in actually- the best country on the earth that lets you have the right to do whatever you want, the one that lets you live here with religious freedom and speech freedom, the one that lets you fairly VOTE for those you think are the best fit to run the country, if you don't want to defend that country- THE USA- you should get out right now.

Let's say someone you absolutely oppose was elected President. Despite this, he/she asks you to serve your nation in some specific capacity. Would you serve your nation even if you don't support the President?

That pretty much happened to millions of guys of my generation.

It was called Selective Service.

In 26 years I served under Carter, Reagan, Bush, Clinton, and Bush 43. Regardless of POTUS or policy, I faithfully performed my constitutional duties.

Even as a rightie, I was embarrassed when President Clinton was booed on the USS Theodore Rooselvelt. I wasn't there but felt shame nonetheless. It is also embarrassing to see military personnel swooning over the current president when they are supposed to be in formation. Very unprofessional.
