First of all little girls, it took an attack on the homeland to motivate the civilians to conserve their consumption, convert their factories & sacrifice.

Also there is a hell of a lot more to building & operating a military that can reach beyond your own borders, than just building military machines. They must have friendly ports to call on negotiated & establish all over the globe. They have to build supply line infrastructure in those many ports of call. Most importantly you must have developed more advance weapons technology & intelligence than your enemy.

I wouldn't fight on either side, if it really got to that serious of a point, I would leave for South America or somewhere else in the southern hemisphere to avoid the nuclear fallout.

That's one of the dangers of a divided country. That's one of the reasons, if not the reason, why they fall.

It doesn't mean that someone would fight with the Chinese or Russians. They might just not fight at all. Same difference. The lack of support Obama has would become stark in the event of a military conflict.
