...don't take illegal drugs.

...don't drink alcohol to excess.

...get married BEFORE you have children.

...STAY married.

...save up to buy a home.

...get an an education or job skills.

...get a good paying job and keep it.

...make sure your children get a good education.

...save up for your children's college education.

...obey the law.

...don't argue with police officers who pull you over to give you a ticket.

I'm sure others can add more to the list.

As far as "education" goes...

Some people are inept and they'll have kids anyway because that's what people do. Should they and their children be left behind? If I understand conservatives correctly most of them support completely ending programs like EBT, WIC and others. Y'all understand the ramifications of that, right? People won't just pull themselves up by their bootstraps if we stop helping. They'll suffer due to their ineptitude. Many Americans would be homeless and starving, and many of those people will get desperate enough to commit crimes they otherwise wouldn't have committed.

Before welfare existed people worked to make a living, there weren't all these crazy desperate people running around with no food or water.

Do you believe ending welfare wouldn't increase homelessness and starvation in the United States?

No, it would not.

An elimination of all government welfare would result in the churches and charities resuming their pre-welfare state role of serving the poor.

Churches and charities would not demand endless amounts of paperwork, but on the other hand, would not be so easily fooled into feeding people who don't actually need it.

Churches and charities are already overburdened without ending welfare. How are they supposed to handle that need? The world has changed dude. You can't always rely on old solutions in an ever-changing world. This is what's wrong with conservatives; for some reason y'all fail to understand that.

So... your answer is, when people are stupid and lazy, just feed them because they can't help themselves? Who's going to pay for that?

How about all the ones that are just PRETENDING to be stupid and lazy? They just want to game the system...

Is your solution to let them starve in American streets and alleys? And what of the crime that will surely come as a result of that?

You didn't answer my question.

It's one or the other.

Some people will abuse the welfare system. It's a necessary evil. I think it's not as common as some people think. Also it's not exactly a glamorous life.

People shouldn't be given money incentives to not work, which is what the welfare system does.
