You know who is really to blame for the Gov.'s shutdown?

So why do we still have so many people illegally streaming across the border?

Simple......because tons of businesses WILL hire them since most U.S. citizens will NOT repair a roof in August...and, here is where the jobs are.

So what you're saying is Obama wasted millions of our tax dollars hiring 20,000 more border agents?

Well, THAT is the type of "conclusion" that an idiot would readily reach.

Because of the increased number of border patrol agents, illegal immigration declined: The Border Patrol reported that 35 percent fewer people tried to get into the U.S. from Mexico.

(BTW, WHY do you Trump acolytes "forget" that.....

a. Many illegal immigrants came over here on a legitimate visa...and
b. Terrorists have...and are most likely entering the U.S. from its NORTHERN border???)

Illegals declined due to the crash.

Hmm....beccause they couldn't work?

Open Border Dems and the establishment clowns who haven't secured the border for decades while serving are at fault.........

People are tired of it.........want it secure...........and are tired of the BS..........Trump either stands up and shuts it down or he's lost creditibility with the people.

He knows it.........and we'll see.........Pelosi and Schumer are open borders clear as day now............Schumer offered a deal for the elections........then withdrew it after Trump accepted it......

Couple of OPEN Border asshats.

Only a complete fool believes that Democrats want open borders and illegal immigration. Obama deported far more illegals than Trump has, and he was prepared to try to change immigration policies, but the ONLY way you are going to stop illegal immigration is to stop employers from hiring illegals.

300,000 Mexicans self-deported between 2008 and 2011, because there were no jobs. If it's impossible for them to be hired, they won't come.
Obama had to change the definition of deporting to get to the numbers he claimed.
Using the same criteria as Obama, prior presidents far exceeded Obama's numbers.

Having said that....Obama had 8 years of deportations to Trump's two years......so as of now, you may be right.

Ok. Show us the change in numbers after Trump corrected the definition you allege was changed.

I hope this helps, Hutch,

Expulsions of people who are settled and working in the United States have fallen steadily since his first year in office, and are down more than 40% since 2009.

On the other side of the ledger, the number of people deported at or near the border has gone up — primarily as a result of changing who gets counted in the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency's deportation statistics.

The vast majority of those border crossers would not have been treated as formal deportations under most previous administrations. If all removals were tallied, the total sent back to Mexico each year would have been far higher under those previous administrations than it is now.

High deportation figures are misleading

Somehow, the Obama administration is simultaneously responsible for the highest rate of deportation in 20 years and a 26 percent drop in deportation. What is going on here? As it turns out, changes in immigration law, terminology and classification are causing this confusion.

One problem is the continued use of “deportation” in virtually all media reporting. In actuality, that category has been obsolete in immigration law since 1996. Prior to 1996, immigration law distinguished between immigrants who were “excluded,” or stopped and prevented from entering U.S. territory, and those who were “deported,” or expelled from the United States after they had made their way into U.S. territory. After 1996, both exclusion and deportation were rolled into one procedure called “removal.” At that point, the term “deportation” no longer had any meaning within the official immigration statistics. Its continued use in media reports is part of the confusion.
Moreover, comparing across administrations is not wise given the changes in law and counting procedures.
Lies, damned lies, and Obama’s deportation statistics

For example, in 2014, Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson told Congress that figures tied to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) that indicated a record of deportations under Obama were really not deportations, but quick turn-backs at the border of immigrants detained at or near the boundary line and then sent back to Mexico without a formal deportation process or order.

Johnson’s statement came during an exchange with lawmakers at a congressional hearing when a Republican queried him on whether the Obama administration was inflating deportation figures.

“Under the Obama administration, more than half of those removals that were attributed to ICE are actually a result of Border Patrol arrests that wouldn’t have been counted in prior administrations?” asked Rep. John Culberson, a Texas Republican, at the March 2014 hearing.

Great.
That's not what I asked for.

BTW, what's the difference? Those people were apprehended and sent packing regardless of the process.

I don't know the numbers you'll have to ask dragon lady, she is the one who claimed that Obama had way more than Trump.

I was posting that Obama's bragging rights came with him changing the definition of deportations. Something
other presidents didn't use. Obama's numbers would have been weak compared to prior presidents when compared
with apples to apples.
It's okay, Hutch.....nothing to get excited about.
