Finally a US Congressional achievement i can celebrate. The Mandate is gone. It should have never been allowed to happen. So i have to congratulate and thank the GOP and President Trump bigtime. They ended the Mandate and got some Tax Reform done. A Yuge accomplishment.

Wait a second Yahoo, so before Obama care people didn't buy insurance, Obama care came along and raised premiums and deductibles sky high , now you are telling us if we get rid of the mandate it will raise them more?

Well, the only premiums that went up were the Cheapo insurance that really didn't cover anything.... The ones that were considered inadequate. About 25 million had them, the Dewey, Cheatem and Howe plan. The one were if you lose an arm, they help you look for it.

My premiums didn't go up with ACA where I was working at that time, and we stopped having those yearly talks with the HR Cow telling us how our insurance would cost a bit more and cover a bit less this year.

My personal favorite was the year she told us how happy she was she was on her husband's insurance when she had her baby, because ours sucked so bad.

Of course, most of our line employees were Indian women who only took these jobs so their husbands could run a store.

The Problem With G.O.P. Plans to Sell Health Insurance Across State Lines

The trouble is that varying or numerous state regulations aren’t the main reason insurance markets tend to be uncompetitive. Selling insurance in a new region or state takes more than just getting a license and including all the locally required benefits. It also involves setting up favorable contracts with doctors and hospitals so that customers will be able to get access to health care. Establishing those networks of health care providers can be hard for new market entrants.

“The barriers to entry are not truly regulatory, they are financial and they are network,” said Sabrina Corlette, the director of the Georgetown University Health Policy Institute.

Then they should have access to jobs that pay a living wage.

Or you have to give up the dope to pass a drug screen to get into a company that will train you to be worth something. It won't come knocking at your door.

I already pay for my own insurance out of pocket, actually. Pretty reasonably priced.

You must be getting a hell of a subsidy. After all this cutting down on my employer, your employer doesn't provide insurance either obviously. I would assume your labor isn't worth your bosses money to give you coverage. Gee, I wonder who told me that????

Not at all. I've been in customer service all of my life. Our customers love me. In fact a few have called my employer to tell them how happy they were with my service. Union guys? What union guys? Unions are a thing of the past outside of government. I watched as all of our union companies folded up and left the state or country just to get away from them. We have very few union shop customers left.

It's what I call my Ray from Cleveland's raccoon theory.

You see a raccoon digging in a garbage can, so you go into the house and fetch that ham you were going to throw out at the end of the week. You give the ham to the raccoon and the animal eats in delight. Now give it about 20 seconds and try to take the ham back and see what happens.

Politicians (especially on the left) are quite aware of my raccoon theory, although they may refer to it as something else. But once you give people something, it's virtually impossible to take it back without getting your hand bit off. And this is why Republicans are scared to take anything back.

ObamaCare should have been gone the first month Trump took office. So why is it still with us? The Raccoon theory.

That you compare other human beings to a feral animal is kind of why some of us call it the "Racist from Cleveland" theory.

Here's the thing, the biggest welfare collectors are WHITE PEOPLE>

Social Security
Medicare
Unemployment Insurance

And most of that money goes to middle class white people.

Um, no, I'm my own employer. I own my own business and I'm self-employed. And I found insurance that I could afford pretty reasonably despite my age. I didn't even have to go on the OCare exchanges to get it, although I've been told I would save some money if I did.

But to the point, you will get more out of those "White People Welfare" programs than you ever pay in.

Unemployment- you'll get everything your employer paid into it in a year in two weeks on it.

Social Security - you'll get everything back you paid into it if you retire at 65 and live to be 72. (Average life expectancy is 78)

Medicare- You'll get everything you paid into it back when you have yoru first serious illness.

Remember, buddy, that's why all these programs are going broke and we done need us some entitlement reform to pay for those tax cuts for billionaires.
