I just want to ask young people how does it feel to pay for grandpa and grandma's lifestyle without your consent? A long time ago grandpa and grandma decided they needed retirement money so they voted for social security which is really great because they are the generation that didn't have to pay for it. Now that they are older younger workers, who are often struggling, must pay for for them. That seems like a shitty thing to do considering they never had to pay for grandpa and grandmas retirement and Most retirees have a home, a car, and a lot of other assets that you don't have! What makes it even worse is that your employer feels that they are being punished because they pay a "matching contribution" to the government. Every pay increased increases the tax they have to pay to the government which makes them less inclined to increase wages (which is something that has to happen in this country). How do you feel about the fact that you never once had a chance to vote on it? Does it really sound democratic considering that you are being taxed without your consent?
