14 year old boy to get year in jail for wearing NRA T-shirt

Fakey always assumes that government officials can do no wrong and that sovereign citizens who exercise their rights are little better than terrorists.

bripat is always assuming that everyone is out to get everybody.

bripat despises the Constitution and American democracy, which is his great loss.

He does not understand our rule of law makes us much freer than any society bripat could create.

You obviously have no more arguments, Fakey.

We're done.

14-Year-Old Year in Jail Wearing NRA T-Shirt School | Complex

Anyway, they'll lock him up for your "Security." A nation of idiots.
This is becoming one hell of a police state!

Wait it's worse, they also arrested a woman who demanded that the police show her a warrant. Afterwards it was revealed they had no warrant.

Welcome to Obama's America!

Ah well, keep making problems like this and showing the rest of the nation what a bunch of ignorant rednecks you are.

This is just too funny for words. For these are the very same people that complain about lack of discipline in the schools, now they are creating, purposely, disciplinary problems.

There's discipline and then there's going overboard. Suspending the kid is going overboard.

Every school, public or parochial, I've ever been involved with have never allowed printed messages on shirts. NRA shirts are especially provacative in light of recent school shootings, etc..

Some of you Repubs need sensitivity training.
Give me a year in jail to think that one over...

Of course gun enthusiasts don't mind their kids taking the heat for their gun causes. His parents should be ashamed.

Yeah..that darn pesky 1st Amendment!

A year in jail is too harsh, but get him to remove the shirt.

Why?

If the school says remove it, he should. The school has the right to decide what you can and can't wear.

So, you'd prefer the kid went around naked? Unless the school has a very specific published dress code and a record of enforcing that code, they haven't a leg to stand on, demanding this child remove his clothing. Child porn, anyone?

You'll shoot yer eye out kid

A key chain isn't a gun. It's a key chain. The NRA does not promote violence. The NRA promotes the right of citizens to own guns as set out by the Constitution. And the right of a student to protest was set out in the Tinker case, below. They can as long as it does not disrupt classes. There is no evidence that this shirt disrupted classes. He does have a legal precedent for appeal. And I hope to hell he wins.
I hope he spends a year in the slammer........just to piss off the NRA

RW loves the idea of a police state.

Why should he remove his shirt?

He shouldn't. Noomi doesn't live here in America, so she doesn't understand that the free speech thing is universal here, from pro-gun to anti-gun, pro-life to pro-choice. Here in America we don't make a habit of trying to shut down our opposition, no matter how hard the NSA and IRS tries.

Because if you allowed students to dress how they pleased, they'd turn up in thigh high boots, a face full of make up and boob tubes?

They already do, and I, being 22 years old, can tell you just not 5 years ago, they most certainly were. Education didn't collapse because of it at Connetquot High School, according to my 17 year old, who is still there, it hasn't collapsed as of the end of the 2012-2013 school year.

So what was your point again?

Also, you haven't answered the MAIN question.

When was the Ninth Amendment abrogated, in order to give schools these rights?

I am not American so I have no idea about your Amendments.

I might behoove you to either learn more about them, or abstain from discussions involving them.

The 14 year old would not follow a simple order, then threatened the principal.

That is not how we handle dissent in this country.

He may gain some perspective and ethical reflection in his time at the home for teenagers who just don't get it.

I went back and looked at the OP link and it does not say he threatened the teacher!!

Jake the Libtard likes making shit up.

The student "was confronted by one of the school's teachers while getting his lunch. When Jared refused to remove or reverse the shirt, the teacher began to raise his voice, and it caught the attention of students eating their lunch, White said. Marcum was eventually arrested and taken away by police after refusing to remove the shirt. White said that when police told the teen they were going to arrest him, he stuck his hands out and said, 'Fine.'" Logan City Police Chief E.K. Harper told ABCNews.com that Marcum was not arrested for wearing a t-shirt, but for "disrupting the school process." "His conduct in school almost incited a riot," Harper said. Yup, the kid was peaceful and non-threatening? A near riot?

Step off loons, you have fail on this.

Moral of the story?

RTFC-

Read The Fucking Constitution

That, TK, is exactly what you should do. Then read the narrative of it during the last 226 years. You are clueless about it.

Shut up Jake. You have failed an argument. And how is eating lunch a school process, exactly? What if he shaped his food into a gun? Oh man, people on the left would go apeshit. I mean they already have, but there must be a level above apeshit, I'm sure.
