46 Democrat Senators Who Betrayed Us

There was a time in our history when a traitor was confronted with a firing squad! Now they are often called liberal heroes.

Over the weekend, we came very close to the United States Senate giving our Constitutional rights over to the United Nations. In a 53-46 vote, the senate narrowly passed a measure that will stop the United States from entering into the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty.

The Statement of Purpose from the bill read:

'To uphold Second Amendment rights and prevent the United States from entering into the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty.'

The U.N. Small Arms Treaty, which has been championed by the Obama Administration, would have effectively placed a global ban on the import and export of small firearms. The ban would have affected all private gun owners in the U.S., and had language that would have implemented an international gun registry on all private guns and ammo.

Astonishingly, 46 of our United States Senators were willing to give away our Constitutional rights to a foreign power.

Here are the 46 senators who voted to let the UN take our guns.

Baldwin (D-WI)
Baucus (D-MT)
Bennet (D-CO)
Blumenthal (D-CT)
Boxer (D-CA)
Brown (D-OH)
Cantwell (D-WA)
Cardin (D-MD)
Carper (D-DE)

Coons (D-DE)
Cowan (D-MA)
Durbin (D-IL)

Thank goodness there were none listed for any southern states except for 2 VA, 1 FL and 1 LA. Nothing from KY, NC, SC, GA, AL, MS, TN, AR, TX AND A FEW OTHERS.

When's the last time a traitor was confronted with a firing squad? What defines a traitor in your opinion?

Here's the text of the amendment in question:

The Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate may revise the allocations of a committee or committees, aggregates, and other appropriate levels in this resolution for one or more bills, joint resolutions, amendments, motions, or conference reports that relate to upholding Second Amendment rights, which shall include preventing the United States from entering into the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty, by the amounts provided in such legislation for those purposes, provided that such legislation would not increase the deficit or revenues over either the period of the total of fiscal years 2013 through 2018 or the period of the total of fiscal years 2013 through 2023.

The amendment does not prevent the Senate from voting to ratify the treaty, when or if it is submitted, but only allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise certain funds which may be related to it. It's a bullshit amendment.

And, the claims made about what the treaty might do to private gun owner's in America is even more bullshit. Here's the text of the treaty. Show me where it "placed a global ban on the import and export of small firearms. The ban would have affected all private gun owners in the U.S., and had language that would have implemented an international gun registry on all private guns and ammo."

(ps: If the author of this crap doesn't know the difference between small arms and "small firearms," should they be trusted to know anything else?)

Too long ago.

What defines a traitor in your opinon?

The United States Constitution and the Logan Act.

Case law on the matter in question:

Even when an ICJ decision has binding force as between the governments of two nations, it is not necessarily enforceable by the individuals affected. If, for example, the ICJ finds that the United States violated a particular defendant’s rights under international law, and such a decision “constitutes an international law obligation on the part of the United States,” it does not necessarily “constitute binding federal law enforceable in United States courts… [W]hile treaties may comprise international commitments . . . they are not domestic law unless Congress has either enacted implementing statutes or the treaty itself conveys an intention that it be self-executing and is ratified on these terms.”

Treaties as Law of the Land - United States Constitution

The United States is a sovereign nation and has a law against any elected leader conferring with NGO's concerning American laws. The law has been on the books for over a century. THAT WOULD INCLUDE THE U.N.! ENFORCE IT ALREADY!

the OP is a new brain dead poster with very little to offer

This is how the far right sees the rest of America and what it wants to do to the great majority.

Violates the Logan Act.

Try this one:

snopes.com: U.N. Arms Trade Treaty

Snopes is not a valid fact checking source. I thought that was common knowledge?

I can understand why someone like you would draw that conclusion. It's a very inconvenient site for those who like to play fast and loose with the truth.

This is certainly not common knowledge to folks in the know who accept facts and critical thinking.

Seems we have alot of Senators who are Traitors! That what it seems like to me! What do you say the American people make sure these guys are serving their very last term right now? Time to vote every single one of them out. All the power has been concentrated to the Senate now anyhow. This is where the breakdown is, folks. Get these guys out of office and you'll be getting some place. - Jeri

I'm going to make a wild guess you have not even bothered to read the treaty. If you had, you would realize this bill to defeat it was crafted by people as stupid and gullible as yourself, on behalf of arms makers who stand to lose a lot of money.

Did you look at who the biggest campaign cash contributors are to the person who sponsored the bill?

It's a real eye opener.

Stop being such a willing rube! Stop eating the bullshit being shoveled into your mouth and regurgitating it! Start thinking for youself, for chrissakes.

Christ, this idiocy over the treaty by people who not even read it is like whack-a-mole. So many moles, so little time.

The absolute truth of the matter is that there is nothing in the treaty that circumvents U.S. law, U.S. authority, or U.S. self-determination.

The actual text of the treaty makes that perfectly clear.

A couple of willfully inaccurate opinion pieces written by unscrupulous arms dealer shills provides the talking points for those who intend to deceive or who are just the useful idiots of those who look to deceive.

Like the OP, I'd like to encourage people to take notes and kick some tail. Those who voted to defeat this treaty have put the United States of America in a very small club with North Korea, Syria, and Iran.

Let's work to make them pay for it at the polls.

Since when is there a "Constitutional right" that allows individuals to "import and export ... small firearms"?
