One guy got caught sleeping on the job... and because he was only caught by the Captain, they got him off the hook saying the Captain needed a second person to back up his claim... yeah that happened. And I worked with the guy and he was the worst Corrections Officer I've ever seen.

The current estimate is that, with 1100 jobs saved, Indiana will recoup its investment (via state income taxes on the workers) in 28.3 months. And, that doesn't even include the cost of unemployment, welfare, food stamps, etc. that would have been paid out if Carrier actually moved.

Oh, by the way, the median hourly wage for those 1100 jobs?

$30.91/hour.

Carrier can have you build it for $31/hour, or Manuel build it for $8/hour. Which one makes good business sense?
