74 school shootings in 77 weeks...Worth it's own thread.

I can't

Because you are unwilling to suffer any inconvenience in your desire to build an arsenal. Our children pay the price....but at least nobody restricts your access to a Bushmaster

What arsenal? Right now if i want to get a single handgun in NYC i have to pay over $400 in fees, get licensed, and pass the review of the NYPD above and beyond just needing a clean record and no mental health issues. it takes MONTHS. and that is just to own a handgun in the house. To get a CCW I have to plead my case or be connected to someone powerful somehow. They can deny it for any reason, including "we don't want you to have one"

Repeal crap like that, and maybe I would trust gun controllers with things like bigger background checks. Until then its just the first step in denying me my rights.

And NYC is seeing its murder rate at historically low levels

NYC ALWAYS had those gun rules in place since the 70's. Thus their impact cannot be attributed to the crime drop. The change in crime was due to aggressive policing, which is being reduced under DiBlasio. But since it was a Republican who did that, it must obviously be ignored.

Secondary, yet they started the amendment with it. Solid analysis.

They could have said the militia keeps the right to bear arms. They didn't.
They could have said the States keep the right to bear arms. They didn't.
They could have said Militia members keep the right to bear arms. They didn't.

They gave that right to the people, so they could FORM the militia when so needed.

They could have just said "The Right of the People to bear arms shall not be infringed". They didn't

They added the militia part to make sure the individual states could maintain their own forces separate from the federal government. To make the militias work the people had to maintain the right to keep and bear arms.

Advertising a gun-free zone on national news, and then refusing to guard those gun-free zones is just asking for wholesale attacks by nut cases.

Creating a crisis out of whole cloth.

Funny how the left excels at creating one crisis after another.

Didn't seem to help the cops in Vegas that were killed or the hero that died cause he was carrying a concealed weapon and tried to interject himself into the fray. This is not TV, this is real life...

While the low information left is focusing on the 2nd Amendment, American kids are being doped and subjected to unrelenting violence and carnage by the pop culture media. Doesn't it occur to the left that the son of a Hollywood producer who had every advantage in the greatest Country in the world decided to kill people? It surely ain't about guns. The Columbine kids were doped up on psychotropic mood enhancer drugs and their parents were upper middle class left leaning victims of the pop culture generation. What does that tell you about the video addicted violence orientated generation? Today's American kids see more realistic violent carnage than most WW2 Veterans saw in their four years of warfare. American kids are probably as qualified for a PTSD pension as Afghanistan war Veterans.

So do Japanese kids, and most kids around the world. How many school shootings were there in Japan the last 12 months? Or in any other country for that matter. It IS about guns. The availability of guns.
ok, so what do you want done about it?

Guns in other countries are not so readily available to kids as they are in the US. I want very strict gun laws, the kind other countries have so kids and others cannot get a hold of guns and do mass shootings.

Then work to repeal the 2nd amendment. Until then, kindly go pound sand.

Nope, without the 1st part of the 2nd amendment, the people could have kept their guns, but the states could have been prevented from forming militias and their own armed forces simply by passing a federal law. The first part of the amendment limits the federal governments power against the States, the 2nd limits the federal government's power against the people. Incorporation of the Bill of Rights under the 14th amendment imposed the 2nd amendment on the States as well.

And still, you refuse to look at the root cause of these tragedies. Hint: it's not guns.

And the root cause is???

It is not guns. That is all you need know. However, you do not know, but more importantly you do not care. Whatever the reason is, it will not fit your pathetic gun control narrative of the socialist democrats.

You and the rest of the pathetic hypocrites attempting to pretend you care by getting all whipped up into your little liberal frenzies about your pathetic talking points is not working on me.

It is working on many, and the country is indeed falling into a socialist paradise. Just do not pretend that you care about these situations to me. Especially when none of you ever come up with your plan and a detailed logistical plan to confiscate all of 300 million guns in circulation.

Start out with what kind of prison time will be given to those that have a gun. How many more prisons will need to be built to incarcerate these criminals? How do you feed the millions that will be incarcerated? How will it be paid for? How do you battle the black market that will be generated? How much money will be needed to be spent?

Go ahead and tell us the plan of the liberals to end all gun ownership in the country.

74 school shootings in the past 77 weeks.

Not 74 chemical bombings, not 74 stabbings, not 74 bows and arrows, not 74 hatchet attacks. The common denominator (do I need to define that term for you?) is guns.

If you Ammo-sexuals want to keep, sleep with and insert your guns into your privates because I really think it's that sick, then figure out a way to stop this epidemic.

This data tells me that the parents of these kids are pretty much out of touch with their kids, so start with them.

Do something besides shoving the 2nd Amendment in my face and whining about your fucking rights. Your rights end when innocent people who cannot protect themselves die.

Hummmm.....Looks like we have a problem with 74 shootings are not actually 74 shootings... depends what the definition of Is is....
The anti-gun organization cites a total of 74 school shootings since Dec. 14, 2012. However, several of the shootings have come under scrutiny as some of them appear to have occurred off-campus and at least one may have been an instance of self-defense.

Journalist Charles C. Johnson dug deeper into Everytown’s data on Tuesday and published his findings on Twitter. He also criticized the fact that the group classified violent disputes and gang-related violence as “school shootings.”

“It’s not a school shooting when someone goes and shoots a specific person on campus. It’s a shooting that happens to take place at school,” he wrote.

Before the grabbers retort, yes these are shootings. What they are not is what we have come to expect from "school shootings" , which is some loon going on campus with the intent of massacring people. What you have is a list of crimes (and suicides) that have happened near a school or on its property.

So two 19 yr old ganbangers lighting it up in a school parking lot is thus a school shooting.

?Wow?: Journalist Attempts to ?Debunk? Anti-Gun Group?s List of ?School Shootings in America Since Sandy Hook? ? Here?s What He Found | TheBlaze.com

Holy semantics games.

“It’s not a school shooting when someone goes and shoots a specific person on campus. It’s a shooting that happens to take place at school,” he wrote.

So you don't know the cause is. Got it.

The cause is not guns. That is all you need to know.

I get it, it does not fit in the narrative that your puppet masters have created.

They could have just said "The Right of the People to bear arms shall not be infringed". They didn't

They added the militia part to make sure the individual states could maintain their own forces separate from the federal government. To make the militias work the people had to maintain the right to keep and bear arms.

They could have just said "The Right of the People to bear arms shall not be infringed". It would have covered militias too. They didn't

How would not mentioning militias cover militias?

I quoted a noted expert in language usage that says the militia clause does not limit the rights of people to keep and bear arms.

If your going to use Sandy Hook as the Example then use shootings such as Sandy Hook not drive by shooting and gang violence. Compare apples to apples. Someone getting shot at midnight in a school parking lot over a drug deal gone wrong is not a school shooting.
All of these were illegal use of firearm laws already on the books. How come none of these guys followed the Law???

And still, you refuse to look at the root cause of these tragedies. Hint: it's not guns.

Its guns....but it's also the media and society as well.
The idea that guns do not play a part in this is absurd. ...and well a lie. Guns create a fantasy for people..almost a romance because you go out in a blaze of glory...the media helps this along because they run the stories and give people the fame they crave. Society helps by helping the media along....

The real answer is more complicated than: it's guns or its not guns....
