A challnege to "open minded" liberals.

Name seven things you personally don't approve of, yet you nonetheless don't question the freedom of someone to do, without permission from the state.

Edit: Is 7 too many? How about 5? 3? 1?
Just 1?
I personally don't approve of carrying a loaded weapon in public. I personally don't approve of flying a Confederate flag. I. personally don't approve of pickets harassing a pregnant girl at an abortion clinic. I personally don't approve of teaching the Genesis myth in science classes. I personally don't approve of rounding up undocumented workers simply because they are undocumented (if they commit crimes that's another story). I personally don't approve of elected officials Gerrymandering their districts (I think the voters should chose the legislators, not the other way around). I personally don't approve of folks claiming to be Christians acting decidedly un-Christian by using that beautiful faith to give them cover to discriminate.

There's seven. Should I go on?

And libs have tried to ban each of those. Intolerant.
Banning harassing young girls is intolerant? Banning Gerrymandering is intolerant? Keeping science in science class is intolerant? Intolerance in the guise of the tolerant faith called Christianity is intolerant?

Please.

Depends.
Do you question the freedom of someone to do these things, without permission from the state?
The state seems to concede consent for all those things, with the exception of the harassment stuff at abortion clinics. But some states even turn a blind eye to that.
That's not what I asked.
Do YOU question the freedom of someone to do these things, without permission from the state?
Further, how do actions by the state qualify as "someone", meaning an individual?

No. But I question their ethics and morality and ability to think deeper than bumper sticker logic.

Freedom can be a dangerous thing if it's abused in order to abuse others.

Really?
You do not question a person's freedom - his right - to carry a loaded gun in public w/o any permissions from the state?

Freedom and responsibility. They only like one part of that.

Yes. I don't believe that adding more guns prevents anything like gunplay. In fact, I believe it encourages it. A simple disagreement, a simple case of road rage, a simple bar fight can escalate into a shoot out with the presence of a gun. Guess what? No gun, no gun shots. It's just that simple.

Keep your guns at home.

We need to make handguns cost $10,000. Want a gun now?

But seriously as a liberal I don't mind ccw's because you have to jump through hoops to get one. I'm too lazy and cheap. I'll take my chances and I know I'll never shoot someone.

Just hope I don't regret it someday.

At the very least there should be some evidence of competence, of safety training, of mental and emotional stability before someone carries a loaded gun in public. Public health and safety trumps the freedom to believe you're Dirty Harry.

Omg this stand up at open mic last night was going on and on about how he loves to have sex with 16 year olds because that's actually the legal age of consent in Michigan. That may be true but he made us all uncomfortable. Lol.

I don't approve of prostitution but don't care if someone chooses to engage in it

A challnege [sic] to "open minded" liberals.

It strikes me as odd how “open-minded” has come to be seen as a virtue by those on the far-wrong, along with “tolerance”, where both of these concepts are applied, if not exclusively, then at least predominantly, to that which ought to be seen as nonsensical and intolerable.

It's good to be open-minded to ideas that don't fit with what you think you already know, but which are worthy of examination to determine whether they might be more true than what you previously thought you knew that is in conflict with them. But when you start accepting, as truth or even as potential truth, concepts that are obviously false on their face, and which conflict with what is easily proven to be true, then “open-mindedness” ceases to be any virtue at all, but merely constitutes being gullible and foolish.

Have you seen Detroit? Abortions should be free with obamacare.

Or iud's should be free at least.

Funny we don't trust anyone to have a licence but we'll let anyone have a real human child. Even a drunk with 3 dui's can have a baby.

2. what your doctor tells you about your health
3. how you are medically treated

Wait a minute, here…

The Obamacare scam, which involves government so deeply in these medical issues, and completely strips the people of freedom to manage their own medical care.

Am I mistaken, or isn't it the Democrats who supported this scam, over almost unanimous opposition from the GOP?

As aware as I am of the tendency of Democrats to attempt to avoid responsibility for the consequences of their own bad policies, and to try to blame these consequences on those who opposed the policies that caused them; this seems rather extreme, even by the precedents already set for Democrat behavior.
