Then he should fire every Obama appointee that he has power to fire, that includes all the Obama Appointed Federal Prosecutors.

It doesn't matter what the Democrats do before they leave office. Each new Senate decides on the rules for that Senate. Now, since the Democrats decided to change the rules in mid session, none of the senate rules are solid. The Republicans can change them at will, and then change them back again.

I have always opposed the use of the filibuster to stop presidential appointments, with the exception of supreme court nominees, who should require a two thirds vote for confirmation.
