After Dems lose Senate in Nov, will they hastily repeal "Nuclr Option"before leaving?

Why would they need to? The Republicans will repeal it, unless they're a bunch of fucking hypocrites.

Hypocrites? are you crazy? Do you remember the tantrums the Democrats threw when the Republicans threatened to use the "nuclear option"? Looks like the hypocrites have already shown their color, and it's Democrat blue!

If the Democrats repeal it, the Republicans should pass it immediately upon the new Congress taking their seats, then the new Republican President should repeal every Executive Order Obama has issued. Then he should fire every Obama appointee that he has power to fire, that includes all the Obama Appointed Federal Prosecutors.

then there should be a "Special Prosecutor" appointed to investigate and prosecute Eric Holder and Obama. Those two anti American Racist pigs have done too much damage already!!

An executive order can be repealed by any succeeding executive. Every single one of obama's executive orders should be repealed. Yes, it goes without saying that a special prosecutor should be appointed to investigate ALL of the criminal activities of this tyrannical regime.

Are you asking if they will break the rules to change the rules again? Hell yes! Those hypocritical bastards will do anything to hold on to some control. Personally I think the republicans, once the new term starts, should do some investigations of the fuckers that violated the senate rules and either sanction them or maybe expel them. Might teach future senators that you don't violate the rules for political expedience.

Some people are ignoring the truth for their own agenda.

The Truth is:Republicans do not like Democrats in office.

Did Republicans like Jimmy Carter? No
Did Republicans like Bill Clinton? No
So why in the hell would they like Obama?

The truth is: democrats do not like republicans in office.

Did democrats like reagan? No
Did democrats like bush? No
So why would they want another republican in office.

Why? If the GOP gets a majority they can simply change it back. I'll bet they'd change the whole Filibuster Rule even if they have a majority of 51. But it's just not going to happen. Imo, they will most likely retain control of the House but the Senate will remain Democratic.

The increasingly likely 55-45 outcome later this year looks like a semi-permanent majority, through 2020 at least. The Ds have forgotten that all politics is local and that means the OP is non-issue, the Rs should be gracious and simply censure Reid and Obama for acting unconstitutionally.

And you think that renewing a law as it is written is the same as entirely rewriting it?

You are aware that Obama was elected to "change" everything that Bush fucked up, right? But he didn't change anything and that's why Republicans should love him, but you don't because he's a black Democrat. But you can't just come out and say, "We don't like him because he's a black Democrat" because that would mark you as racist assclowns. So instead, you talking monkeys call Obama a Marxist, a Kenyan, a Muslim, a tyrant, a "boi king", and every other nonsensical name that you can think of just short of calling him a ******.

Sonow you've been exposed as a lo-lo you pivot to the "Obama is just like a black Bush" meme?

Did Bush push for the Lilly Ledbetter Act? Did Bush push for Dodd Frank? Did Bush push for Bushcare? Did Bush take over GM and Chrysler?
The only assclown in this conversation is you.
Did Bush torture POWs to death in secret prisons? Did Bush lie to the United Nations in order to invade Iraq? Did the Bush administration run drone strikes on civilians? Did Bush sign the big government PATRIOT Act? Did Republican Teabaggers remain loyal to the big government as long as a Republican was in charge?

Republicans hate America so much that they will side with criminals, terrorists and even Russia, just to spite a black President.

One, you have no idea of federal government works, apparently.

Two, yes, the pres can issue certain EOs but not to the extent that you hope.

Three, prosecutors as we found out under Bush are to independent of political pressure.

Have fun.

No, it does not look semi-permanent. The seats that will be up in 2016 that Republicans will be trying to retain are not in their favor and it is a presidential election year when Democrats have better turnout. You are seeing the opposite this year. The Democrats won a number of Senate seats because of their turnout in 2008 which they won't enjoy this year.

They're not going to repeal it , it's going to get shoved up Democrat asses. Hypocrites...how dare you suggest that after 8 years of the most corrupt administration in recorded history. 51 votes to stop SCOTUS appointments. 51 votes to remove all democrat co-chairmen from committees. 51 votes to send Obama and Holder to Leavenworth prison.

What about a compromise? Democrats will push to repeal the nuclear option if Republicans will push to repeal the USAPATRIOT Act.

Democrats have repeatedly reauthorized the Patriot Act, dipshit.

Wow, you really know how to show off your ignorance. In modern times, post WWII, The Raygun administration was by far the most corrupt. Nixon was the most corrupt Executive too. The Obama Administration has had to endure more cries of corruption from the Birthers to the phony scandals, from the GOP nutters, but since they lack any evidence their cries are moot.

Even if they get 51 Senate seats, it takes 67 votes to remove a sitting president.

It's a long way to November so neither side should be counting their chickens just yet.

And you hate them for it, right? Because the Democrats are big government totalitarian Marxists or whatever, right? So that means the small-government Republicans are going to run on repealing the Democrats' big government USAPATRIOT Act, right?

It doesn't matter what the Democrats do before they leave office. Each new Senate decides on the rules for that Senate. Now, since the Democrats decided to change the rules in mid session, none of the senate rules are solid. The Republicans can change them at will, and then change them back again.

I have always opposed the use of the filibuster to stop presidential appointments, with the exception of supreme court nominees, who should require a two thirds vote for confirmation.
