This is what the left have repeatedly said they want to do, take guns away from people.

Yeah. Pretty stupid of the left for the most part. I agree.

Then Trump made that statement and I just about shit my drawers...but curiously I didn't hear much of a peep from those on the right.

It was then I knew that trumpers loved Trump more then the 2nd amendment.

I say if a person is crazy enough to take their guns away from them then they shouldn't be out in the first place.

My parents are life long Democrats but to steal a statement from Charles Xavier, I feel a great deal of pity for anyone that goes to their house and tries to take their guns.

Gun owners, if they are smart, trust Democrats with their gun rights less than Democrats trust Republicans w/ abortion rights.
