All I Want For Christmas...is for Barron to smile

I saw the arrival of the White House Christmas tree yesterday--a beauty of a 20-foot fir that arrived in a horse drawn wagon with a little brass band playing O Tannenbaum. Melania and Barron came out to inspect it.

I'm worried about Barron. He looked a little peaked and he was thoroughly miserable. Never cracked so much as a smile although everyone else was smiling like idiots, because--well, the tree is always something to smile about, isn't it?

Barron looked pale and a little thinner and like I said, miserable. Barron seemed pretty chipper at the Inaugural Parade. He's not weathering this experience very well. I feel so bad for that kid. Hard few months with moving, a new school, all the restrictions on him as First Child. Although I remember my son at that age, and smiling was not a cool thing to do, he wasn't stone cold depressed all the time.

I wish someone could bring a smile to that kid's face. The holidays are coming.

I purposely did a google image search for different snapshots of that event and in every single one of them the kid looked miserable. No offfense, but I wasn't sure if you were pulling a fast one. After all, you always have that 'I just pooped on your rug' look on your face.

But, nope. Not one picture of the boy looking in any way happy in all of the different photos of the moment.

Then again, he likely already has everything he wants, too.

I dare say he does not and he knows it. He, unlike many of his peers, does not have a father of fine character. While that may not have been apparent to him before, I'm sure it's very obvious to him now. Were I at his age to have it laid out before me that my father is a scoundrel of the highest order one can be without going to jail, I would have been a very unhappy kid.

LOL Interesting projection onto Julie Andrews.

It's the grin. Heheh. No personal offense was intended.

Christmas is a time for civility and being kind to one another. Perhaps more of that across the country, especially in Washington - from EVERYONE, could help with that, OL.
If only the President would listen to you and stop trying so hard to divide the country down party, race, religious, lines.....

He probably looks this way because these boring adult events are the last places he wants to be. Think back to when you were a kid and your parents made you go to boring events where there are no other kids your age. It sucked. Lol.

I'm sure he believes no such thing.

Well. I have my personal opinions about Trump. But mine are more about policy.

As far as the kid this is the first generation of youth to live their entire lives in a technological world such as ours. And they are its masters. The flipside of that is the in-between generation who only know how to pop off on Twitter and fedbook. Which makes this one of the worst times to be the President's kid. Or wife, for that matter.

I've worked on many, many, campaigns in different capacities, both local and national. No matter who one is, their families end up under the microscope. And any half-wit with a keyboard can attack anyone anonymously these days.

Perhaps. Were I in his situation, I sure would. So would my kids. Indeed, at yesterday's dinner, we did the "what are you thankful for" thing. One of my kids said, "I'm thankful that when Dad says something, it's true."

It was ten minutes, Chris. Even I could have faked it through an event that short. Is it only girls that get trained to put a pleasant look on their faces?

While that is so, few candidates are found to have flat-out lied about and misrepresented things both great and small, or to have admitted to sexually molesting women, or having gone so far as to pretend on a phone call with someone to whom they're know to be someone else. Sure, folks can and will "spin" all manners of things; however, what Trump's done is well beyond "spin" because so much he's said is just not true.

One of my sons friends was mopey like that. Some kids are more mopey than other kids.

Baseball uniform(apple pie MAGA nonsense)
Maybe tRump should send him to Putin to earn his man card.

Jesus, he hasn't even got a few facial hairs yet. Go easy on the kid.

I think the media refuses to publish pictures of Barron smiling on purpose....so they can generate fake stories about the boy being ill, retarded, or unhappy.

They'll eventually claim he hates his evil father of course.....

^^^^ Barron Trump is a handsome young boy.

I'm the type that probably would have been giving mommy bunny ears.

I feel for the kid having to hear all the vile lies spewed about his pops daily.
