Conservatives figured out 15-20 years ago from demographics data that their window to control the federal and many state governments was slowly closing and they launched a campaign to do just this, convene a Constitutional Convention so they could codify into a 'new Constitution' all of their batshit ideas, ban unions, set in stone a 15% tax on the wealthy that cannot be changed by Congress, ban the inheritance tax forever, ban abortion, all of the right wings wet dreams written into a new Constitution that cannot be over-riden even if they don't have a majority in either house or the White House. And they are close to doing it. 37 states are needed to hold a Constitional Convention and change the Constitution and they are getting close to that.

It matters not in the end, if they attempt to codify all these right wing whacko ideas into the C there will be civil war. America has moved on from this far right agenda but they won't accept it. The few want to force their weird beliefs on the masses.

As usual, you are el wrongo. The truth is, the federal government has screwed the constitution, and many of the states want it back in place. I have to ask you a question--------> this country became great UNDER the constitution we had in place, or under courts REWRITING the constitution?

It is really quite simple----------> the agenda of an article 5 has to be agreed by all that attend. It isn't about REWRITING the constitution, it is about ENFORCING the constitution, which lefties despise; or honestly, so it seems.

To suggest that some politician in Washington DC knows more about YOU then the people in the state you live in, is almost hysterical. It is patently obvious why the left is so against this idea------------> them leveraging all those electoral votes in California, New York, and Illinois to control 20% of what happens in the United States is far less then if Washington DICTATES 90% of what happens. Also, as people FLEE their taxing jurisdiction that actually PAY taxes to Florida and other red states, they lose revenue to buy votes. In essence, they would rather have a NATIONAL TAX be the overwhelming % of taxes, so as fleeing would do little good.
