Let's take as a random example, the officer who shot LaQuan McDonald (16 times, most when he was lying on the ground). This creep had 20 civilian complaints against him, including one incident where he dislocated a suspect's shoulder (the City paid out $500,000 in damages), 10 complaints of excessive force, 1 complaint of hurling a racial epitath at a suspect, and he was involved in falsifying documents related to a 2005 police shooting.
Amazingly, this guy still had a job. More amazingly, it took the Chicago PD another year to fire him, and only then because they finally got the videotape released.
But Heather the Hack says that there's a War on Police because people are saying this isn't cool.

I have issues with police abusing their authority, and the fact that in NYC they get their 2nd amendment rights and I don't, but that doesn't mean we have to attack the entire institution.
