Another Christian baker targeted for abuse

The secular LGBT hate machine goes into full throttle. Of course this isn't the liberal Utopia of Oregon, it's Texas and there are no sexual discrimination bans.

Christian Bakeshop in Texas Targeted for Abuse After Refusing to Make Gay Wedding Cake

A bakery owned by a Christian family in Longview, Texas is being deluged with threats and hate mail after the owners declined to bake a wedding cake for a gay marriage.

Soon after the story was published, irate LGBT activists posted vulgar and derogatory reviews on Yelp and other social networking platforms, targeting Edie and David Delorme, who own the Kern’s Bake Shop. Others made actual threats against the business and their family.

“See you in Hell, lady,” read one angry message. “Racist criminals. “This business is run by a homophobic piece of s***,” another message read.

The Delormes are members of a local Baptist church and since its founding have endeavored to run their bakery according to their Christian beliefs, including a long-standing policy to turn away any business that mighty conflict with their religious beliefs.

The bakery won’t make any tobacco- or alcohol-related cakes, for example, and no “risqué” cakes of any kind.

“We feel like if we are going to be putting our name on something, we want it to encourage Godly values,” Edie said. This does not mean that they will not serve gay customers, but merely that they will not make a cake celebrating a ceremony they believe is sinful.

As of yet, the couple has not filed a formal charge against the Christian couple, but the Delmores have secured legal counsel in case that moment arrives. One of the men, Valencia, said that he had not pursued legal options because Texas does not have a statewide discrimination ban based on sexual orientation.options because Texas does not have a statewide discrimination ban based on sexual orientation.

I hate to break your little snot bubble but there is NOTHING Christian about this bakeshop.

Not at all, just watching idiots like you gleefully condoning the proles with their torches and pitchforks do your dirty work while you stand on the sidelines like the gutless cowards you are.

Where are the 'proles with their torches and pitchforks exactly?

It a metaphor for all the nasty reviews on their yelp page, and for the social media flood in general.
Welcome to the 21st century.

How dare anyone use social media to attack a business.....

Starbucks unveiled its plain red cups Nov. 1, but they became a culture-war topic last week by cropping up on former pastor Joshua Feuerstein's Facebook page. He posted a video denouncing Starbucks for removing "Christmas from their cups because they hate Jesus." Other Christians took to social media to slam the decision.

While I considered the whole thing to be silly and a waste of time, there are differences between the cases. How many of the people complaining, as a percentage, were actual customers of Starbucks compared to the percentage of people slamming this baker on Yelp who were actual customers of said baker?

Oh so your outrage about morality depends upon fine nuances of who you want to be offended by and who you don't?

The opponents of anything and everything 'gay' employ social media in the exact same way as those 'proples with their torches and pitchforks' you are so offended by.

"As of yet, the couple has not filed a formal charge against the Christian couple...."

As always, that's the key. The couple can choose to just let the bakers be who they are and find another baker, or they can choose to have them punished.
.
Let's hope the gay men choose to go to a bakery willing to help them celebrate their wedding. The Kern bakery isn't showing favoritism because they won't bake other types of cakes that. Are sinful to them. Afterall, they don't refuse normal business from gays. The gay-fascists need to leave them alone.

'gay fascists' being apparently anyone who disagrees with business's that don't serve them.

You've done it again, genius. You've posted a comment that means nothing to me....as though it does. I'm sure your inner dialogue is telling you that you've served an ace....but....trust me.....you've swung and missed.
It is YOU who is serving up bigotry. Religion is exempt from accusations of bigotry regardless of what you atheists (or liberals) believe.

. Just those whose hatred and bigotry is so pronounced that they gleefully put decent people out of business just to force their belief (look, there's that word) on others. Public accommodation laws do not trump the 1st Amendment. Our next three conservative justices appointed by President Cruz or whomever will make that very clear once and for all. This persecution of those with religious beliefs is going to stop.

I am not gleeful about anyone being put out of business.

But to me, a business going out of business because it discriminates against certain customers deserves to go out of business as much as a business with a reputation for poor service.

So to you a fascist is anyone who criticizes a business for who they discriminate against.

Why exactly do you believe religion is exempt from accusations of bigotry?

The Mormon church excluded African Americans from the core church for decades- and was accused of bigotry.
Churches that have excluded African Americans from their congregations have been accused of bigotry.
Churches such as Westboro Baptists Church have been accused of bigotry towards not only gays, but veterans, and pretty much all Christians.

Certainly any church can be as bigoted as it chooses to be- or as bigoted as it believes whatever divinity tells it to be- but nothing wrong with pointing out that bigotry.

These liberal assholes are going to learn they aren't putting their secular religion between Christians and God's Law. They think they are winning the battle, but we know who is going to win the war.

So boycotts and bad reviews are not what you want? Make up your minds!!

You don't like PA laws (unless they are protecting Christians) and you don't like "free market" solutions. WTF, over.

(FYI...PA laws have been found to be Constitutional)

Really? Enlighten us on how "it" ends.

How did it end the last time bigots tried to use "religious liberty" to support their bigotry and desire to discriminate?

You compare your plight as the same as the blacks in the 50s as integration was being pressed harder on the Democrat overlords to grant Civil Rights. Under Democrat rule, blacks couldn't eat with Whites or even sit alone at a luncheon counter at Woolworth's. Gays, on the other hand have never been discriminated by businesses - Christian or otherwise. Bakers have no problem with selling them cakes, pies or whatever they sold normal people. As long as the cake isn't used for a wedding, no Christian business will have a problem selling them the cake.

Westboro is no more Baptist than the Catholc Church is Islamic. A man's religion is is a very personal matter as dear to him as anyone's secular beliefs they hold (like control of her own body, perhaps?). If one is bigotry then the other is murder. We're going to have to agree to disagree.

People of faith have used their faith as excuses for everything from attacking Jews, Christians and Muslims to slavery of blacks.

Just because someone truly believes that his faith tells him that Jews are evil because they killed Christ doesn't mean that we should just hand wave off their anti-semitism.
