Now as most people realize, Our President DESPISES the concept of the suburbs. As with all utopian liberals, he believes that we should all be crammed into urban centers, crushed together like sardines with no way, no legal way to escape. This egomaniac has suggested that those who live near large cities but outside the municipal boundaries of said city somehow "owe" it to the inner city dwellers left behind( FYI I have never lived in a city so it is impossible for me to have anything behind) in the form of some sort of special taxation. After all it is just not fair that some have the ability to work and save so that they can afford to move to the quiet and safety of the suburban setting while others have not found ways to do this OR wish to remain in the urban center..
So now, the Obama admin and the federal housing authority have discovered a way to allow poorer people to skip the earnings/savings thing and FORCE apartment complex owners to take Section 8 tenants. The Obama admin will significantly boost housing subsidies so that some people will take them and move to places they normally could not afford.
This is an outrageous over step of executive authority. No doubt this will be challenged in the courts for the next decade.
For those of you whose hearts bleed, you're God damned right. I earned it. I worked hard and acquired the necessary skills to be able to afford to live outside the city.
This is government on a mission of "we will get even with you evil suburb dwellers" and nothing else.
Obama making bid to diversify wealthy neighborhoods...
BTW folks, this is never going to work. People WILL find ways to protect their investments, their families and their communities.....Bank on it,.

We've already had a dead end thread on this. Since it can never work, everything's cool.

I always found it odd that liberals want to pack humans into small spaces like sardines wiping out nature and creating toxic waste sewage spewing factories aka inner cities. How often do you hear the liberal media report on the frequent spills of raw sewage into public waterways by liberal cities, its total crickets.

That liberal MSM media machine owned by 6 major mutlinational corporations that preside over 90% of what americans read, see, and hear should get on that for sure.

UN Agenda 21 had an angle of keeping everyone close and building up, rather than out, and how much easier it is to control. It isnow labeled Habitat III. Coincidence?

part of it-
There emerged in the 21st century the need to promote compactness through mixed land use, maximize land efficiency, as well as to promote sustainable, diversified, socially equal and thriving communities which should focus on following key areas: 1. High quality streets and public spaces. Well-planned streets and public spaces that shape the urban structure help support local economy, connectivity, culture, creativity, and future developments. A good street network works well for vehicles and public transport as well as for pedestrians and cyclists. At least 50% of the land to be used for public space; 30% to be allocated to streets for building well connected
2. Proper and well-designed density. To meet the challenge of rapid urbanization and benefit from the economies of scale and to promote sustainable urban extension, it is important to have proper and well designed density of at least 150 people/ha. 3. Mixed Urban Uses and limited land-use specialization: Mixed land-use planning helps create local jobs, promote the local economy, reduce car dependency and commute, encourage pedestrian, cyclist and other non-motorised transport , reduce landscape fragmentation and green-house gas emissions, provide closer public services, support mixed communities and local economies, promote safer communities and create attractive neighborhoods. local 4. Connectivity: The purpose of increasing connectivity is to create access to jobs and services for all and to boost economies. This encourages walking, public transport, and ICT-accessibility. 5. Mixed social structure: This principle aims to promote cohesion and interaction between different social classes in the same neighbourhood and ensuring accessibility to equitable urban opportunities by providing different types of housing.
