I was so excited about the USA's win over Ghana that I almost didn't change the channel on ESPN when they played the 8 seconds of "highlights." But there was a Seinfeld rerun on the other station, so I had to went.

Regarding the 270 million or so "Americans" who couldn't care less about FOOTball, there are many sports entrepreneurs who DO care what they think. Which is why professional soccer is only televised on the Home Shopping Network between 2 and 4AM.

BTW, I have no doubt that soccer is very enjoyable to PLAY. I have many friends and relatives who have played well into adulthood, and will continue playing as long as they are physically able. It's just boring as hell to watch.
