As I Predicted, Emoluments Case Dismissed

The hotel was in the works years before he announced, how is he profiting from his position other than being the owner? As I said a thousand times before, selling goods and services at market rates does not an emolument make.

.

You do not think that they picked up guest after he became the POTUS? Really?

The hotel has the best location in DC, easily accessible to everything, people would stay there for the convenience regardless of who owns it.

.

You are not so naive as to not know him being POTUS would help business there.

Do you have any evidence to show that it does. People who can afford his hotel are more concerned about their time savings, amenities and convenience, than who runs the hotel.

.

Since the hotel did not open till the middle of the election we have nothing to compare it to.

But Trump has been there at least 10 times for speeches and more...but sure you can pretend that does not help business if you like.

Yep, good ruling. He should be able to profit off his position as long as he is not breaking the law.

So, the Orange Virus is still profiting from taxpayers, yes? How is that not breaking the law? Sounds like a case of 2 separate justice systems: one for the rich, and that other one.
Trump is losing millions while serving as president. His net worth has decreased by $3 billion since he won the election.
He never collected his pay either.
So have you seen his taxes?
Otherwise you're just talkin' out of your brown pie hole.

But what would it prove?

The ruling from the unanimous three-judge panel of the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals is a victory for the president, who was accused by the attorneys general of D.C. and Maryland of unconstitutionally profiting from foreign governments

Yep, good ruling. He should be able to profit off his position as long as he is not breaking the law.

How does people staying at his hotel cost the tax payers money?

Secret Service, any cabinet member or employee works for the government, yes? If they stay at one of the Orange Virus' hotels, then it's taxpayer dollars being spent for their services, yes? Those dollars would seem to enrich the owner of the hotel, yes?
If the hotel room is rented at market rates there is no illegality. Did you complain when Biden rented his guest house to the secret service and got paid by taxpayer dollars?

Every company that does business with the government is "profiting from taxpayers." That isn't a crime.

It's a conflict of interest when the guy usurping the WH owns the company. You simply don't care because you suck his Orange member.

Yeah, right.
Oh so you don't believe that millions of liberal assholes have boycotted his businesses and his products?

I don't believe much of anything you post. Plus, who cares? Why are you deflecting?
Sorry if you think logic and rational thought is deflection.

Even if that were true, there's no crime called having a "conflict of interest." Every scumbag politician in Congress has investments in companies the government regulates and pays money to.

How does he profit off it?

Great question.
As he no longer earns money from the corporation, he gains nothing.
And he doesn't even take a government pay check as he turns over his presidential salary to various agencies.

Yes, I'm quite aware he's a scumbag politician drawing from the taxpayer teat. Glad you're finally coming around. You must love oligarchies.

Hmmmm, I think he does earn money from it. However, he no longer manages it.

I am personally unqualified to make judgements about many laws. And it is no secret I believe Trump to be a world class crook who scraps settled tradition to his benefit instinctively...and gets away with it. But it seems to me the appeals court made the only decision they could. I have no idea who appointed these judges, which seems to be a factor since Trump gained office, however it appears the States failed to prove their case according to the translation I heard, just like Clark and Darden failed to make their case.
Did the voices in your head tell you this?

Every dime of profit his corporation makes will be his the day he walks out of the White House. He is still gaining, it is at best just delayed a bit

Say, did O'bummer have any investments when he was POTUS? If so, and no doubt he did, then according to you he broke the law. You call Trump a virus? Let's talk about TDS, I'm sure you have it.
