Judicial Watch, a nonprofit American conservative activist group, announced Monday that a hearing has been set for Tuesday, August 6, in the Ashli Babbitt $30 million wrongful death suit filed on behalf of her estate. Babbit was shot and killed by a Capitol Police officer during the Jan. 6 protests.

Judicial Watch posted to Twitter/X Monday and said Babbitt and her family “deserve accountability and justice”:

The group and its president, Tom Fitton, wrote on their website about the filing and said the federal government was guilty of negligence, assault and battery, and more:

They also accused the Biden administration of trying to escape accountability in the matter:

There was no reason for Babbitt to die that day. She was unarmed except for a folding knife that was in her pocket and was not attacking or threatening anyone at the time she was shot. It will be interesting to see if anyone, including the shooter, Capitol Police Lieutenant Michael Byrd, will ever be held accountable, or if this administration and the legal system will continue to pretend like it never happened.

Comment:
The Left used to be outraged about protesters being shot.
Pelosi has attempted to cover-up the murder of Ashley Babbitt.
They investigated themselves and then they denied that there was any wrongdoing.
They should have never been allowed to investigate themselves.

When one goes from standing around shouting to breaking a window on a door and climbing through it they move from protestor to a clear and present danger to those behind said door.

What a crock of BS your post is! You're very well brainwashed in accordance with Deep State desires. Bow and pray to your masters.
PeterPilot is unable to deny the truth: "breaking a window on a door and climbing through it they move from protestor to a clear and present danger to those behind said door."

The officer felt threatened when unarmed Babbit did not heed the commands so the officer shot her.

Don’t you think this is what happened when an unarmed Black person did the same thing and got shot? The Left burned down cities and called for defunding of the police. In the case of Babbit, they cheered the police for shooing an unarmed rioter for not obeying commands and threatening an officer. Go figure.

she was at the front of a wild mob calling for the death of the people those officers were protecting. Had they allowed her through the window she could have opened the door for the whole mob.

Can you find an example of an unnamed black person being shot climbing through a window after being told by the police to stop and desist?

You are splitting hairs. When a suspect is detained by police and/ or don’t listen to the commands or represent a threat to the officers, they are going to get shot.

Can we agree that people should listen to the officers’ commands and not physically threaten the officers so they don’t get shot?

Clear and present danger to a government operating in contradiction to the US Constitution.
Only in your feeble opinion. You are all so lucky that it was only Ashlii, as tragic it was, died among the saboteurs and insurgents and rioters.

Do it again, and the LEO and NG will machine gun you all.

Ashley, dumb ass-Ashli Babbitt entered the Capitol without going through metal detectors carrying a backpack at a time when the defenders of the capitol with responsibility to protect a joint session of Congress, including the vice president of the United States and his family, When Dumb Ass Ashli. Babbitt tried to go through a door after breaking the window Near a joint session of Congress in session when a police officer no idea how many of the “million“ Trump supporters were behind her. So he shot the dumb bitch.

Truth is, breaking into the capital on that day Carrying a backpack, which could’ve contained a bomb goddamn wonder they didn’t shooter way before they did.

You can’t take an uninspected backpack or purse or into the Capitol or other federal property unless it’s been inspected, and if you try, they should shoot you.

This person was not detained, they were in the act of committing a crime.
