A good example is in medical school. You can be the most academically gifted student ever, but if have no ability to connect with your people you likely won’t be a very good doctor. Likewise many schools like to look for applicants from underserved communities who express an interest in returning to those communities to practice: rural areas, ethnic and racial minorities etc. They may be less interested in the kid who‘s main goal after graduation is to get rich on body sculpting, cosmetic surgery and liposuction.

This holds true for nursing school almost without fail. The honor grad from nursing school is very often a terrible nurse.

All of them would have been highly qualified, so how do you select when you can only admit a tiny fraction? None of these schools admit solely on gpa/test scores nor should they.

So how do you know that the white student didn't get in because he lost out to another white student with lower scores, you are just assuming that the white student didn't get in because they let a black student in. That's what makes you a racist POS. Higher many black students with higher scores have been denied because the white student with lower merits go in because of who they know. I noticed you couldn't refute the numbers I posted so you ran like a scolded dog.

The difference between the scores/grades in med school that are “good enough” for blacks to be admitted are substantially lower than that required for whites to get in.

And remember, GPA/Test score has never been the sole criteria for admissions. All of these students are going to be highly qualified regardless of race. Why shouldn’t the Black student have the opportunity if he excels in other aspects?

The average SAT score at Harvard is 1520. He’s 70 points above that. If it were one school then you might have point. But all of them? None of the top Universities in the US wanted a student with a near perfect SAT score and GPA? You don’t actually believe that.

Because I worked in admissions, you racist POS. Two out of every three blacks in their prestigious college would NOT have gotten in if white.
