Why is it that in Europe…where assault weapons..as they are described lovingly by anti gunners…are completely illegal…especially in France……and yet every criminal and terrorist over there uses AK-47 weapons…fully automatic weapons all the time…it is there weapon of choice….
In fact, more assault weapons are used in Europe for crime than they are used here in the U.S. where you can actually buy them in stores……
For example….in the United States…you can buy an AR-15 in a gun store….and yet they are only used a few times, if any at all in shootings in the U.S…….even the San Bernadino shooting is a rare event…..
and there are more AR-15s in the U.S. in Civilian hands than in Europe…because they are completely illegal over there….
How Many Assault Weapons Are There in America? How Much Would It Cost the Government To Buy Them Back?
Add everything together, make all the necessary caveats, carry the two, and we reach the conclusion that there are somewhere around 3,750,000 AR-15-type rifles in the United States today. If there are around 310 million firearms in the USA today, that means these auto-loading assault-style rifles make up around 1 percent of the total arsenal.
