Omen of republicans losing the US House?

If they do, they will be left virtually powerless.

Republican loss of the US Senate is a foregone conclusion.
Disagree.

Republicans will have no problem keeping the House.

Red state Congressional districts have been gerrymandered to the point where republicans will retain control of the House for decades to come.

Republicans will also keep control of the Senate, but likely by only one or two seats.
2020 is the really important election. That's the next census. A Democratically controlled House can redraw the districts.
you mean like tom Delay did ... or any state in the union ... like the republicans did so they could make their counties 2/3 republicans and 1/3 democratts ... and you think they won their elections honestly ??? Well my republican, conservative, friend, pay backs are a pitch

Again, how does a democratically controlled house change how States apportion their representative districts?

That's what conservatards start screaming on Inauguration Day when a Democrat is elected.

Keep dodging an actual response to my statement, bitch tits.
How many years did the conservatards give the ACA a chance to work before trying to trash it? Hint - it wasn't "decades".

Because the ACA is failing right in front of our faces. Even Dems can't hide the failures like they hid the local blue model failures since the 70's and 80's.
Software version 1.0 of anything will have bugs, and need upgrades and fixes.

Republicans have refused to allow those upgrades.

Yes, kind of like the failing public education system in some of those cities. The usual fix from progs like you is THROW MORE MONEY AT IT!!!!
pleas look at what you are saying ... in public schools we have teacher buying supplies for students who are so poor that they can't afford to buy these things.. and y7ou claim we through more money at it...

in Canada they pay for the arts and and the sports in their public schools ... we have more people coming fromCanada with talent who make more money who pays more to their tax base so the arts can be paid for in this case we get what you pay for ...

in the past 60 years I 've watched the school get less money each year ... which has Shut down after school projects for students .... only to go to to private schools ... which by they way hasn't done a better job then any public school ... this has been the worst decision this country has ever been involved with ... my self after school track and field, Ice hockey, in the winter... baseball in the summer .... all supplied by the school lucky me... now only the parents who can afford to pay for these functions do they get to go

now in case you have notice these Kids who hate the schools like the do today do What??? they stand on corners sell dope ... rob people ... shoot people ... and by your assumption we pay too much for schools ... we pay more for prisons ... and yet you haven't any objection to that ... just as long as those Teachers unions don't give anymore money to the democrats you will be fine with that ... that's the only reason these things have been cut ... because the republicans hate seeing donations going to the democrats because we democrats support the unions ...so what happens ??? the kids poor and rich kids lose ... republicans think all that money goes to them DEM supporting teacher and it doesn't ... that's a sad thing ..

Some school systems get less money because the # of students is decreasing, or at least they should get less money, but the Teacher's unions fight that tooth and nail. In NYC we keep dumping more and more $$ into the schools, for the same meh results.

And stop with your bullshit preaching. the only reason you care about teacher's unions is BECAUSE they are solid democratic contributors, just like any other public sector union. There are plenty of things the unions could compromise on, higher teacher contributions to retirement and health care, changes to seniority rules to prevent good teachers from camping in white majority schools in the system, more vigorous evaluations of teachers and methods of getting rid of bad ones. But you focus on a few hundred dollars of supplies, and meander off into prison costs shows you just care about the political power that comes from large city teacher's unions.

Um, idiot. The house of representatives doesn't decide the makeup of districts inside the States. The state legislatures do that. So a Democratic controlled house would have zero impact on the makeup of the districts at the State level, and thus the breakdown of R vs D districts.

it's not all unions, just public sector ones. Even Roosevelt was against the combination of civil service protections combined with union protections. He knew it was too much power that could have catastrophic issues when it came to government finances and flexibility.

Private sector unions are a needed, and in the case of the construction trades, a beneficial method of representing labor. In fact, construction unions are the best example, as THEY handle the cost of retirement and medical for their workers, and receive a set payment from the contractors for this. Thus they are forced to make sure they get enough $$ in each year to cover the future. Public sector unions don't have to do that. They can just rely on the taxpayer to make it up, and the politicians know this, so they punt down costs over the decades.

What is the breakdown of School costs between labor, materials, maintenance? What about the costs of bloated bureaucracies like the NYC Department of Education?

And I noticed you glossed over the whole concept of getting rid of bad teachers. NYC's rubber rooms may not be called that anymore, but they are still there. How does that help kids?

It is no secret that the collapse of the American automobile industry is what caused the detroit disaster. Whenever there exists a high population of semi-skilled people, who no longer have jobs, you are going to have a disaster. What amuses me is that the Right on this board blames this on democrats, but fail to say exactly what would solve the problem, and turn Detroit into a prosperous, safe city, where most would have a job, be well educated, and a future.

I guess that pointing the finger is what republicans do best.

I think the finger can be pointed.

How many years has Detroit had a Democratic mayor?

Most significantly, in 1961 the reins of political power in the city fell permanently into Democratic Party hands. In the 53 years that have passed since then, Detroit has not had a single Republican mayor. Indeed it has elected only one Republican to its City Council since 1970.

Wow! The whole point of my post was lost on you, wasn't it? Let me try to make it again in a simple sentence:

What would any republican mayor do to solve the disaster of Detroit that has not been done by any democratic mayor?

Beats me. What has any Democrat Mayor done to solve the disaster of Detroit?

....I thought so....

Saying something doesn't work isn;t "undermining" them, and opposing them is the right thing to do.5

Progressive policies are based on the "pay later never" theory.
Tell us all about how conservative policies are paid for.

Which one?
Medicare part D.
Iraq invasion - oh yeah, it was supposed to pay for itself.
Star Wars
Military expansion - F-35, F-22, Osprey, LCS program.
Police state apparatus - NSA, DHS, TSA

Do conservatives actually pay for anything or do they put everything on the credit card while at the same time they cut taxes on corporations and the rich and then bitch at Liberals when the bills come due?

Star Wars? Really? You are going back to the 80's for an attempted point. what a fucking loon.

And of those programs, which ones besdies Medicare part D contained unfunded liabilities?

You may actually have a point over the Iraq War, but you lose it when you go back to Star Wars...

what a dunderhead.
Typical wingnut tactic: take the one thing out of a list to cast doubt on, ignore the rest of the list.

Bush's huge tax cuts for the wealthy was not paid for.

Bush's stimulus in 2002 was not paid for.

Medicare D was not paid for.

The Iraq War was not paid for.

The Afghanistan War was not paid for.

And yes: Star Wars was not paid for.

Bush added $6.103 Trillion in 8 years to the national debt from 2001 to 2009 and the Debt/GDP ratio was 83%. Obama has added $6.241Trillion in 6 years ending in 2015 and the Debt/GDP ratio is 101%. Two years to go on Obama's spending spree. Obama also extended Bush's huge tax cut. Since income is taxed and wealth is not, there is no such thing as a tax cut for the wealthy.

Not particularly. Especially since no republican on this board has come up with anything to solve the Detorit disaster other than to make Michigan a Right to Work state, which does not do much, considering that there is no work at all..
