I have no problem with police identifying a guy in a parking lot with his AR as the bad guy and ordering him to place it on the ground and back away. It is not a matter of self defense, personal defense or defense of the country against all enemies foreign and domestic. If the nut balls want to change (as you say) to arson, toxics, explosives than they would just have to. That is not the issue. Mind you, I like the basic AR-15 platform and an building one now. I will place order for an upper and sights tomorrow morning to complete it. I look forward to taking it to the range after completion, but the range and the house is where it belongs.Banning ownership would be wrong. Banning from places other than your own property or weapons ranges or hunting areas if they are allowed is another matter.
