A long time ago, SOTU quit being the State Of The Union address and became nothing more than a current president bloviating about how great a job he is doing. In this particular one I found it interesting that with 70%-80% of Americans thinking that the country is headed in the wrong direction, the president proclaimed about how great things are and that he wants to continue on this same course and called for all Americans to be optimistic about the future. There was noting in the speech about the State Of The Union, mostly because the state of the union is terrible and terrible doesn't make a good campaign speech with the midterms and the 2024 elections coming up.Kinda like his approval ratings.
