Snob appeal. Smaller classes, more resources. Plus the opportunity to establish yourself in a network of high achieving high wealth individuals. One of my neighbours taught at Upper Canada College. He felt there were children more in need of his abilities, and it was very intimmidating for him to tell the Prime Minister of Canada that his son needs to be doing better in his classes at parent/teacher meetings, but the pay and the resources were a teacher's dream.

Even public schools in high income areas tend to be better schools too. Better fund raising by the parents buys better field trips, and other resources.

If I had the money, I would definitely have wanted my son to attend UCC, or a similar school, if for no other reason than the network of business acquaintances he would have when he finished school.
