Black Airman Fatally Shot in Florida by Deputies

We still dont know if it was wrong apartment yet. The apartment owner called about a disturbance. The police went through knocking on doors. When this dude didnt answer they burst in and he had a gun on them, so he was short. it is under investigation/. crump is on it trying to make money saying the guy said i cant breath. trying to use that again.

Sheriff’s Office released a statement claiming that the deputy who shot Fortson “reacted in self defense” after encountering the senior airman who was armed with a gun.
Being black in a red state is dangerous.

No

Self defense is allowed

You would do the same
This was murder

The weapon is not raised and the deputy fired as soon as the door opened with no warning or command.

But then, the guy is Black so I guess it's justified, right?

The Airman serving his country honorably would be alive, and a shithole county in Florida Barney Fife cop would still be alive.
How do you know the airman woulnt not have shot the deputy?

And more to the point, how could the deputy know?

The guy was quietly in his apartment bothering no one.
White Karen made the complaint.
Officer banged the door loudly in a threatening manner
DESPITE this the victim had not raised his weapon OR made any threatening movements.

The deputy fired as soon as the door opened.
He panicked because the guy was Black.

So why didn't they shoot this one?

He is clearly a threat but they've not even drawn their weapons.

What oh what could be the difference?

How long has it taken for you to become so radical?

The black guy should not have opened the door with a gun in his hand

The cop should not have shot someone who was not threatening him. The deputy handled this situation about as bad as he could have

The gun made it a threatening situation
Then the officer should have left his in the car. If having a gun turns a situation into a threatening one then every interaction with a police officer is a threatening situation. The airman was shot for exercising his right in his own home. The he officer was wrong and handled this interaction poorly from the start. Hopefully he will not get a free pass
