Black Airman Fatally Shot in Florida by Deputies

Again, had he done that, the cop woud have busted down the door, shot him, then whites here would be telling us how he should have complied.
I bet more than a few blacks would tell you that too.

You are focused on the wrong problem.

It wasn’t his shooting.

It was the fact that the Sheriff’s department went to the wrong house.

That should never have been allowed to happen.

I’m never they did that, and made entry, expecting to have to deal with a criminal suspect, then or victim was armed and that combined with the circumstances led to the horrible outcome.

The Sheriff’s office would live to pawn this off on the low guy down the line. But that’s some cynical shit by then. The real culpability was their failure to do tactical planning which should have included verifying the correct address BEFORE it led to the airman’s death.
The problem is, it happens all of the time, and the cops are so poorly trained they are terrified all of the time.

Get better qualified people, with better training, and this crap stops.

We still dont know if it was wrong apartment yet. The apartment owner called about a disturbance. The police went through knocking on doors. When this dude didnt answer they burst in and he had a gun on them, so he was short. it is under investigation/. crump is on it trying to make money saying the guy said i cant breath. trying to use that again.

Sheriff’s Office released a statement claiming that the deputy who shot Fortson “reacted in self defense” after encountering the senior airman who was armed with a gun.
This cop shot the man 6 times without asking him to put down his gun.

the cop announced himself and then guy potined gun and he got shot . self defense.

the even told to drop the gun oooh. this is self defense buy cops. and they didnt burst end the due open door with gun pointed at them. mom has no case here.

No, that's not how it happened.

you left out he was in his own home when he was shot holding a gun,,

dont you just love it when the intruder is a cop and gets away with shooting you in your own home??

That requires a warrant. Police can't just kick in the door.
They also didn't announce themselves.
He was also on a Facetime call when it occurred so there are independent witnesses.

This is likely bad, very bad.
You Lie!

The apartment owner called about a beating.
Sheriff had probable cause.
Sheriff did announce himself.
Sheriff didn't kick in the door.
Idiot should have answered the police order to open the door without gun in hand.

It appears so far that the sheriff deputy acted appropriately
Shooting someone for none compliance of a request you did not even make yet is not acting appropriately. Executing an individual for exercising their right is not acting appropriately. What good is keeping and bearing arms if doing so is an acceptable reason to be shot by people like you.

No, the cop should have gone to THE CORRECT FUCKING ADDRESS, you stupid clod!

The Cops will ALWAYS Mag dump first . ( And check addresses and ask questions later )
That's how it is these days. It wasn't always like that.

Oscar Ray Bolin changed everything. Now police don't see good or bad, they just see "can arrest" or not. It's not good.

It doesn't foster a healthy relationship between the people and police at all.

Oh, and police are people too.

It has been that way for over 150 years. It was pretty common for lawmen to shoot their suspects in the back rather than the Hollywood showdown. What has changed is the for profit approach to incarceration where the laws a person broke is less important than the money sending them to jail will generate

The vidro shows that the dead black guy was holding a gun

Which made the airman a mortal threat to the deputy

Why is it when a white man is holding a gun it is his legal right, but a black man holding a gun can be executed and fools like you claim the cop acted appropriately.

Thats not true. What is true is that African Americans have more not caring of any rules to follow. Good cops are neutered with other cops who phuk with people.
