Ive always had mixed feelings about threads like this. What if I posted all the things white people have accomplished? Wouldn't it be awkward seeing those lists side by side? Isnt it better to just stay away from racially categorized accomplishments?

While I do agree with your post, I can understand his motivations, especially with the rap blacks are taking, and often deserving, along with Hispanics and whites, these days. A gentle reminder of some great blacks in history, is something I like to read. I especially like to quote this famous historical figure:

A former slave who eventually became a freedmen and wrote about the horrors of slavery. He wasn't supposed to know how to read or write, but he managed to trick some white kids into teaching him anyway. Some of his ideas still apply today.

"Everybody has asked the question. . ."What shall we do with the Negro?" I have had but one answer from the beginning.

Do nothing with us! Your doing with us has already played the mischief with us. Do nothing with us! If the apples will not remain on the tree of their own strength, if they are wormeaten at the core, if they are early ripe and disposed to fall, let them fall! I am not for tying or fastening them on the tree in any way, except by nature's plan, and if they will not stay there, let them fall. And if the Negro cannot stand on his own legs, let him fall also. All I ask is, give him a chance to stand on his own legs! Let him alone!"

-Frederick Douglass

Great quote...I love that one.

I have no problem honoring blacks and their accomplishments. These men fought for our country while having to fight against their own country.

They were Hero's, and performed very well in combat.......

Now saying that, what is the purpose of the OP..............

To the OP...............

Why should I praise Eric Holder...................He could be a martian for all I care...........I don't agree with his job performance....................

Does that make me Racists.....................Is that the Op's purpose.................

Obama, I don't support him or his policies..................Don't agree with his Nobel Prize either.............

Does that make me a Racists......................

Again, what is the ops purpose................

Yes, it is. And too bad the government saw that race as a means to an end by further enslaving the Negro with entitlements for a vote grab....

Nature was prevented from taking it's course and ruined any self-respect most Negros could have built on his or her own. And this can be said for anyone living off unearned entitlements. If they aren't TRULY physically or mentally impaired, they have sold their soul to the company store...shame, shame, shame, on them and the hand that feeds them....the greedy government moving onto socialism.

Very sadly, today, as in present day United States, blacks who have accomplished great things are castigated as race traitors. They are rejected by black people and by white liberals.

What is the purpose of most OPs here? :eusa_whistle:

I see Viktor as wanting to share the accomplishments of the men and women he is proud of and perhaps a member of a race he wants acknowledged, for the good things they have contributed, as he defines that. A gentle reminder, posted in goodwill.

If that is the case, then no problem.........

But on these boards that is usually not the case............

And even though it COULD BE a goodwill post, I will still challenge the so called Greatness of some I don't consider to be great, which I've already done..........

One more point................

Just because they hold a high position doesn't make them great...............

Many great men and women have never held a high position................

Greatness should be judged by their actions and deeds, not by the position they hold.........

The Tuskegee Airmen were great, not because of their position or title, but because of their actions................

Which is why I question the OP................The flaw I'm stating now being another major factor.

That's a crock of shit and a very broad and totally inaccurate generalization. What about the successful Blacks who a revered and covered during Black History Month, in entertainment, business, etc., they are not being called "race traitors". If they are being called such things, it's by a very small ignorant MINORITY of Black people and certainly not the MAJORITY......................

Blacks winning a nobel prize? Only in no-brain fields like peace and literature. No black has ever won a science nobel though one did win a nobel in economics (half-science).

What accomplishments? Outside of the silly field of entertainment {which includes sports and politics), there are practically no famous blacks. Where are the black billionaire businessmen?

I fondly recall a black man who, at the depths of The Great Depression, built a fortune from selling neckties (good strong ones) on the sidewalks of Wall Street.

He was history's first tycoon!

HAHAHA. A necktie salesman!!!! That's the best you can come up with for a black of accomplishment.??? Lots of blacks got rich selling drugs or playing basketball too. That's not accomplishment.

Where are the black steve jobs or henry fords.? Blacks who founded companies that make important products.
