Boom!!!! Judge in Manafort case says Mueller only wants to hurt Trump

the fbi was already actively investigating all russian ties prior to the election

The same orgs used by Obama to attack Americans for their beliefs. Applying for non profit status.

Over 400 of these sued the IRS and won.

Both the RNC and DNC hired Fusion GPS to dig dirt. Going as far as hiring a woman to say she was Putin's neice and had info on Hillary to try to intrap .

Dirty politics at it's worst

No, they weren't. Your hero, the obummer, told them to back off.

so now you're going with the laughable narrative that the previous administration "didn't do enough" to protect our country from the internal foreign invasion which was openly invited by team trump.

what do you call all of the SUPPOSEDLY unwarranted surveillance of russian contacts which lead to "memos" about the fbi "leaks" that THANKFULLY let the American people know that team trump was lying to us about their russian contacts, to the extent we've had resignations, recusals, and ongoing indictments?

the ongoing investigation, which, in fact, HAS been going on since prior to the election, is what you consider the CIA, FBI, NSA, FISA, DOJ not doing ENOUGH??

obama told them to "back off".. is that your official stance? :laugh2:

BTW clearly you are projecting about YOUR "hero"

i won't hold my breath waiting for you to find ONE post where i ever as much as complimented president O.

nevertheless, he WAS our twice elected president which SHOULD mean something...

why bother responding to your typical dishonest posts

It looks like that case will get thrown out of court.
 No, it doesn’t
looks like it to me. and the judge has called the ploy a ploy and it will be tumbling soon.
You’re wrong about everything, so....

And just Saturday yet ANOTHER judge rebukes Mullers bull shit. See, you jerked off and blew all your wads because CNN said Teumps going to be impeached. But y’all forgot something, judges. They Interpret law. And so far, the judges aren’t liking Muller and his teams tactics, or their implication that they have unrestrained power to do what they want.

"The 13 Angry Democrats in charge of the Russian Witch Hunt are starting to find out that there is a Court System in place that actually protects people from injustice...and just wait ‘till the Courts get to see your unrevealed Conflicts of Interest!

The Russia Witch Hunt is rapidly losing credibility. House Intelligence Committee found No Collusion, Coordination or anything else with Russia. So now the Probe says OK, what else is there? How about Obstruction for a made up, phony crime. There is no O, it’s called Fighting Back" - Eloquent Donald on twitter

Mueller Investigation In Jeopardy As "Witch Hunt" Accusations Play Out In Court

3rd judge weighs in and it's not looking good for the salem-hunters.

As of Friday, three separate Judges have rendered harsh setbacks to the Mueller investigation - demanding, if you can believe it, facts and evidence to back up the Special Counsel's claims - in unredacted format as one Judge demands, or risk having the cases tossed out altogether.

What unfettered power?

Evidence of a crime is evidence of a crime.
Guidelines of the independent council............did Rosenstein give unfettered power to Mueller................

Are he within those bounds...............and are the cases presented to the court within that power...............

Obviously it's not "unfettered" if there is a designated scope, dope.
Which the Judge asked for a full copy of..............geesh....
LERg2Su.gif

The judge has no need for that. The information pertinent to the motion by the defense is already available.
LOL

It is totally relevant to the legality of the witch hunt..

A "witch hunt" is not made in the motion by the defense, fool.

Bullshit. It says clearly that Mueller had this authority since his appointment.
His authority allows him to go anywhere he pleases.................which is what he's doing.......

Hey pal................the Judge called their asses out on it............which part of decade old accusations apply to Russia ..............hmmmmm

NONE.

What part of a land deal does a blowjob apply to?
moving-goalposts-gif-1.gif

Nothing has moved. The point is, the investigation follows the evidence. Evidence of a crime will not be ignored simply because it's not related to the cause of the investigation.
The investigation has limitations. this is why they got rid of the Independent Counsel laws as they had no oversight. There is evidence the Special Counsel exceeded their mandate. If true Mueller is in deep crap both ethically and criminally.

The limitations and mandate come from the AG, fool.

Maybe you can highlight the laws that support your claims.

Under 28 CFR there can not be two investigations in process if the person of interest is being investigated by the Special Counsel. All investigations by The DOJ and FBI must cease according to the law. As long as Mueller lists them as persons of interest NO ONE ELSE CAN INVESTIGATE THEM.

I don't see how Cohen can be investigated by the Eastern district while he is listed in Muellers case... This is a serous breach in the law. Cohen is listed in two investigations when the law clearly states this is unlawful.

Cohen is getting twisted by Mueller and it violates the law..
28 CFR 600.4 - Jurisdiction.

§ 600.4 Jurisdiction.
(a)Original jurisdiction. The jurisdiction of a Special Counsel shall be established by the Attorney General. The Special Counsel will be provided with a specific factual statement of the matter to be investigated. The jurisdiction of a Special Counsel shall also include the authority to investigate and prosecute federal crimes committed in the course of, and with intent to interfere with, the Special Counsel's investigation, such as perjury, obstruction of justice, destruction of evidence, and intimidation of witnesses; and to conduct appeals arising out of the matter being investigated and/or prosecuted.

(b)Additional jurisdiction. If in the course of his or her investigation the Special Counsel concludes that additional jurisdiction beyond that specified in his or her original jurisdiction is necessary in order to fully investigate and resolve the matters assigned, or to investigate new matters that come to light in the course of his or her investigation, he or she shall consult with the Attorney General, who will determine whether to include the additional matters within the Special Counsel's jurisdiction or assign them elsewhere.

(c)Civil and administrative jurisdiction. If in the course of his or her investigation the Special Counsel determines that administrative remedies, civil sanctions or other governmental action outside the criminal justice system might be appropriate, he or she shall consult with the Attorney General with respect to the appropriate component to take any necessary action. A Special Counsel shall not have civil or administrative authority unless specifically granted such jurisdiction by the Attorney General.

Thanks. You just posted corroboration for my points and destroyed your own.
I think I'll let the Judge decide that.................His position on this matters.........whether you like it or not.

We will all wait on the judge, who will decide that Rosenstein is the one who delineates the scope of the investigation, not the judge.
Its going to be real interesting how the judge handles the Mueller crew going outside their legal scope.. IMHO they should be slapped down hard and the whole mess closed down.

Explain to us all what you understand the "legal scope" to be and where it was violated.

This should be interesting.

"You don't really care about Mr. Manafort's bank fraud," District Judge T.S. Ellis said to prosecutor Michael Dreeben, at times losing his temper. Ellis said prosecutors were interested in Manafort because of his potential to provide material that would lead to Trump's "prosecution or impeachment," Ellis said.

"That's what you're really interested in," said Ellis, who was appointed by President Ronald Reagan.

He repeated his suspicion several times in the hour-long court hearing."

Damn, after being bitch slapped twice by two different courts his career maker case is looking like a sinking ship thats about to take its captain with it.
You know what wishful thinking is?

Are you talking about collusion? :D

How long this investigation is going, fifteen months?

It all smacks of a typical Trump plan and drive them insane over months with a latter-day version of the Chinese water torture. A long slow push of minimal moves to achieve the maximum outcome.

The net result is that instead of the investigation delegitimizing Trump, it’s the investigation itself which has been deligitimised. Mueller has spent a year on a political goose chase and has come up with precisely nothing, especially within the given mandate. The result we have so far is a sign of how successful Trump’s strategy of dealing with the whole situation has been that he’s now begun to openly taunt Mueller and the investigation on social media, calling it a witch hunt. Mueller is desperate, and looking for some way out. The recent FBI raid he ordered on Trump’s attorney was a unique and brutal violation of any notion of client attorney privilege whether you were a special counsel or not.

To quote Newt Gingrich’s reaction to it: “Setting up a precedent that a prosecutor is allowed to dig into your life until finding a crime is a threat to the rule of law and a threat to every American.”

It was Mueller’s one last gasp attempt to get out of his dilemma by provoking Trump to fire him, which Trump won’t oblige him by doing, since he’s now got him exactly where he always planned to have him.

Not everyone is taking the leftist bait.

Obviously if Rosenstein has set boundaries, it then cannot be " unfettered power" by any measure.

No, the judge will find Rosenstein's letter of authorization was too broad and that even then Mueller went beyond the authority granted to him by the letter. The Inspector General will issue a report soon that will level similar criticisms, Rosenstein will be reassigned to whatever the Justice Department's version of traffic court is and will resign. Since this judge has accused Mueller of lying and bending the rules to illegitimate ends, he will open an investigation into all of Mueller's actions to date and that will effectively shut down the whole faux investigation. Adam Schiff will then have nothing to talk about but Stormy Daniels underpants.

No, the judge will find Rosenstein's letter of authorization was too broad and that even then Mueller went beyond the authority granted to him by the letter.

The judge cannot "find" that in any way.
Rosenstein decides how broad the investigation will be. Not the judge.

Mueller did exactly what he was authorized to do.

Prosecutors: Rosenstein gave Mueller OK to probe, indict Manafort

"The May 17, 2017 [appointment] order was worded categorically in order to permit its release without confirming specific investigations involving specific individuals," Rosenstein wrote in the Aug. 2, 2017 memo. "The following allegations were within the scope of the Investigation at the time of your appointment and are within the scope of the Order: ... Allegations that Paul Manafort: Committed a crime or crimes by colluding with Russian government officials with respect to the Russian government's efforts to interfere with the 2016 election for President of the United States, in violation of United States law. Committed a crime or crimes arising out of payments he received from the Ukrainian government before and during the tenure of President Viktor Yanukovych."

A judge can rule on the legality of the scope set by Rosenstein. Rosenstein isn't a Good. Neither is the Judge. His decision can be appealed.

Welcome to the Republic under the Constitution

ahem.... did you read the transcript of the hearing?

it was not a cold case, the FBI was already investigating it....it got moved over to Mueller when the special counsel was appointed.

Yes, the FBI interviewed manofort waaaaaay back then and determined that his crimes were too minor to continue the investigation.
Yes.
That's what I am trying to find out.... if Manafort was being investigated by the FBI BEFORE the Russian Election Interference investigation began, during the Russian investigation only by a different team of agents, or was this a long long time ago, like 5 to 10 years ago closer to when it happened?

Eagle said he thought it was opened on Manafort a couple of years ago or so....

Still don't know if it was before the Russia Investigation began on the possible Trump Team conspiracy with the Russians or not?

To me, if it was opened on Manafort BEFORE the Trump team investigation opened, then they had other sources that lead to him being investigated.

Or was it after Manafort went to work for Trump, or before the press broke the news that the Ukrainian papers showed Manafort being paid or slipped $10 or $20 million for his campaign work there....kind of an ''under the table thing'' coupled with Manafort changing the republican platform to favor Russia over the Ukraine story that broke....that forced Manafort to resign?

I'd like to know when they began their investigation on him...it would help on all of our speculations, (mine, yours, Eagle's etc) of what's really happening imo.

He was investigated, and they declined to pursue him. Till now. mueller is trying to get manafort to compose a sonnet that mueller can then use to go after trump. It is a lie, and it will always be a lie, but mueller, being the corrupt scumbag that he is, doesn't care.
it broke in the Press about manafort and some papers discovered by the present Ukrainian government, that showed Manafort was funneled Ukrainian monies(worth about $20 million dollars) to a Cyprus Bank that was known for Russian money laundering.... this is why Manafort abruptly resigned from being the Trump campaign manager because the campaign knew he would become a Target of the FBI and the continual hounding of the Press....and Steve Bannon and Kelly Ann came on board the Trump campaign, I believe it was August 2016....but it could have been late July, in 2016....and this could have triggered it.... or even earlier when Manafort first joined the Mueller team, when the Press was hot on his trail, with all of his work with the Ukraine Russians and a candidate that the Allied Nations resoundingly knew was Putin's pawn..... that could have triggered another look....?

The point is that until we know what triggered an investigation in to Manafort and when it occurred, you and I know nothing and are only speculating.

And the truth of the matter is that if the Trump campaign was being investigated for possible ties to the Russian election influence campaign, the Trump campaign manager with known Ukrainian Russian ties, would be a great place to start....

What triggered the investigation is trump won the election. I have no doubt that manafort, and all of these other investigations are a part of that "insurance policy" that mccabe, strzok, and page were talking about.

The FBI investigation into russian meddling and the Trump team's possible involvement began in july of 16, fool.

No one is "shooting" for 300 years, dope. Those are just the possible maximum sentences.

Obstruction is weak even Hillary knows it won't work.

Manson has nothing to do with it. Prosecutors charge the maximum so there's room to deal if the defendant wants to plea.
