Border wall to be built in Rio Grande Valley

You know, a wall would have done zero to stop the largest fentanyl bust in US history, because they found it and some meth, in a false bottom of a truck, entering in via a regular port of entry.

If they really want to make a difference, more agents, and better detection equipment would be far more beneficial than a static wall, that apparently, a lot of people in the OP's link don't want.
You are a dumbass. The more walls and security, the more that try at legal entry. Where entry is personal...
not True....Berlin wall, didn't stop the migration, China's great wall, didn't stop both migration and invasions....Europe has a body of water and still get illegal immigration....Immigration legal or illegal is a natural human movement....Just because you ended up here earlier your or your ancestors doesn't mean that you can stop the course of migration that has been happening for thousands of years. It's dumb and selfish.
Complete strawman
Walls are like door locks on your house. It wont STOP them but it will SLOW them.
I dint even support a wall, i support solutions.
However, the arguments against a wall not doing its job is illogical. Kinda like you debating an argument i didnt make.
Wall or no wall...this country want immigrants legal or illegal....trump hires them, economy needs them, the US needs them....the baby boomers and lazy americans need them....don't kid yourself....none of the ones screaming wall, would the jobs that are done by illegals or some legal immigrants.

.Berlin wall, didn't stop the migration

As a matter of fact, it did just that. It kept East Germans contained in a state of involuntary Socialism for over 30 years.
I'm talking west Germany...who was gonna run to the east part from the west at that time?
The only a bit of a successful wall is made by the apartheid in Israel and it's a matter of time before it goes down, and borders gets pushed back a ton.

We can't stop everything. We just need to slow it the fuck down to prevent a communist take-over. A wall takes a lot of work to take down. Also, consider the optics of such an action.

This is a "permanent" fix that neither Dem nor GOP wants.

DO it.!!!

if you cared about communism so much, you wouldn't be happy supporting Russians against your own citizens that think differently...and also you would be pissed of at seing %54 of the budget and our hard earned money go to the defense contractors....you are just hyped up because you think that Carlos that work 2 low key jobs for 16 hours is a threat to your comfort because they fed you that on daily basis.
More strawmen. And neither follow our beliefs.
Just log the fuck off.

Ciao Felicia then.

I dint even support a wall, i support solutions.
I too support solutions, but none of the rats in the Duopoly are interested in said solutions.

- no free emergency care
- no contribution from employers on behalf of employees to Medicare or SS (takes away the incentive to hire illegals)
- no free public education for children of illegals
- repeal or amend the 14th Amendment allowing anchor baby citizenship
- voter ID laws

That's just a few.

We won't get those....so...GIVE ME A FUCKING WALL!!!

Maybe because they have decent jobs?

Silly stuff. Israel built a smart fence such as the President wants to build along its border with Sinai to stop Africans from illegally entering the country. Before the fence was completed in 2013, replacing an ordinary fence, tens of thousands of Africans had entered the country illegally, but since its completion none have successfully crossed that border illegally.

But you don't have to take my word or Israel's word for it. Just ask Chuck Schumer or any Democrat who served int he US Senate in 2013, or ask Bernie Sanders or the other independent, King. In 2013, as a member of the "gang of eight" a bipartisan group of senators, Schumer introduced into the Senate Senate bill S. 744, which provided billions of dollars to fund hundreds of miles of border fence and billions more for hi tech surveillance and communications equipment to make it a smart fence and more money to hire tens of thousands more border patrol agents. Every Democrat, and the two independents, in the Senate voted for this bill.

Clearly the Democrats believed the smart fence would work right up until President Trump said it would.

I heard a smuggler from NY talking about ways to bet a fence...

you know those air guns they use to shoot T-Shirts into crowds ?

4-6 ounces of coke or herion can go over a fence in one shot - five minutes later, the fence allowed several lbs to make it in the state.

hell children, theyve aready figured it out ..

:auiqs.jpg:

Yep. They found around 30 cans filled with marijuana that had been fired over a fence into the US.

Mexican drug gangs now using T-shirt CANNONS to fire soup cans filled with marijuana 500ft over U.S. border | Daily Mail Online

U.S. Border Patrol agents have seized more than 30 cans filled with marijuana that were lunched by Mexican drug smugglers over the border fence into Arizona using a cannon.

Authorities say 33 cans of pot were spotted Friday in a field near where the Colorado River crosses the U.S.-Mexico border.

They believe the cans were propelled about 500 feet into the U.S. from a pneumatic-powered cannon similar to the ones used to launch T-shirts.

So, if there was no wall then they could just walk right in and hand the stuff off to somebody to sell over here. You get the point, right? A wall makes it harder, not impossible, just harder.

I hafta ask, why do you guys make such a big deal out of this. Would you be saying the same thing if it was President Hillary wanting the same thing? Somehow I doubt it. You cannot tell me with a straight face that you give a damn about $5.7 bil, you guys have NEVER given a damn about spending more money until it as Trump that wants to spend it. Hey, shovel ready jobs, fellas.

If Hillary wanted to put up a wall, I'd be against it as well. We can get more border agents, have drones assist in patrolling and finding those who are crossing illegally. Build a wall, and they will just tunnel under it or find another way like t shirt cannons.

What has changed since 2013 that walls are now illogical, racist, mean, too expensive, don't work, and are against Jesus?

Oh , that's right.

For that matter, why did Democrats who now hate walls build a wall around their convention center in 2016? Hell, why have the same Democrats who are now refusing to vote to fund a wall on our border in just the last 3 years voted to help build walls on the borders of OTHER countries?

This is yet another subject where Democrats are full of shit, and their minions are too stupid to notice.

No you wouldn't , and stop with the "they will tunnel under it bullshit. They already tunnel in where they can to avoid detection . The wall/fence is just a measure , no one is claiming that it will stop all drugs or illegal aliens.

Border Patrol doesn't stop all of either, using your "logic" we should just close down the BP because they don't stop everything, so why waste the money?

Or we could shut down all traffic from Mexico!

Actually, Trump DID close the southern border for a few hours. And, it cost a lot of communities a lot of money.

Did California's border closure cost $5.3M in economic loss?

During a recent visit to the U.S.-Mexico border, California’s Democratic Gov.-elect Gavin Newsom claimed the Trump administration’s temporary border closure last month cost $5.3 million in economic loss in the area and that future shutdowns could run into the billions of dollars.

U.S. border officials on Nov. 25 stopped all traffic for several hours at the San Ysidro Port of Entry, which serves as the gateway between Tijuana and San Diego. It’s the busiest land border crossing in the United States and among the busiest in the world.

The six-hour shutdown happened as migrants from Central America protested just south of the crossing. A group later rushed a border fence and were met with tear gas fired by U.S. border agents, who said some threw rocks at them.
Do you have a clue as to what illegal cost the American taxpayer? Dew ewe care?

Body of Water? bwhahhaaa! Our nation has two massive oceans and sparsely populated colder nation to the North and a sieve to the South. If we played by these rules and were located like China, the wars would never end. The real agents for the enemies to our nation are the ones who do not want to build a wall, slow down illegals and reduce drugs massively.

We have a serious problem in our country and it's not illegal drugs or illegal immigration. The problem, in a nutshell, is making up our minds when it comes to government policies.

We want to curtail illegal immigration, but we need the labor force that immigration provides... so we make a lot of theater about catching illegal immigrants, but we don't secure the border.

The stated goal of our government is that illegal drugs are bad, but Billions of dollars in drug money is deposited in our banks and invested in our property and financial markets. It helps sustain our economy... so me make a lot of theater about fighting illegal drugs, but we don't do what is required to stop them.

Our indecision manifests itself in many ways. We want to intercede in foreign conflicts, but we can't actually make up our minds on whose side to intervene, the goals of our intervention, and an exit strategy for the intervention ... so we make a lot of theater about fighting for oppressed peoples.

These are all complex problems and if we're going to take a stand against something, we should probably decide if that stand is what we really want.

The question isn't what we do about illegal immigration, illegal drugs, or foreign wars ... the question is, do we do anything at all.

Creating ineffective theater is expensive and counter-productive.

Cut of all incentive

The wall, built by East Germany and Russia, did precisely what it was intended to do. It worked.

The walls that separate Israel from aggressive enemies on their borders have done a lot to save the lives of innocent Israeli civilians. As long as those threats remain, those walls will be in place.

I say we should let individual liberty be the governing principle in making all these decisions. That would solve ALL the problems.

:dunno:

But, statist authoritarian shits don't like liberty. They want control.

We want to curtail illegal immigration. But, our legal immigration process (thanks to government bureaucracy) has become onerous and inefficient. We can't bring in the workers we need or want. Overseas workers have to apply sometimes years in advance to come and work in America.

If we were really serious about curtailing illegal immigration, we would streamline or legal immigration system while simultaneously punishing companies who hire and exploit illegal immigrants as a deterrent.

Building a wall is only one step in eliminating the issues around illegal immigration.

I tend to agree ... but people on both sides of the political spectrum see government as simultaneously the cause of and the solution to their problems.
