Border wall to be built in Rio Grande Valley

You know, a wall would have done zero to stop the largest fentanyl bust in US history, because they found it and some meth, in a false bottom of a truck, entering in via a regular port of entry.

If they really want to make a difference, more agents, and better detection equipment would be far more beneficial than a static wall, that apparently, a lot of people in the OP's link don't want.
Or we could shut down all traffic from Mexico!

THERE AINT GONNA BE NO GODDAMN WALL !!

Dude (the great builder) is in year three and you fuckers cannot post a single picture one linear foot of “big beautiful wall”.

See, now improve on the existing structures down near Brownsville and McAllen (rip them down and put up something solid), and take that bitch all the way north of Laredo about 50 miles.

That should be good for Texas.

What is so bad about that?

.

Obviously we need more than one method of border security. Otherwise we run into problems that say we should not examine tankers or trucks because there is a wall.

it appears they arent - the article is over a month old.

I live in south central Tx. ... not a word on ANY news stations

ergo;

THERE AINT GONNA BE NO GODDAMN WALL !!

There is going to be a GD wall, and it's already going up. Maybe you should find a better "news" source. The fake "Indians" are already out protesting it but they'll most likely be arrested.

From today:

U.S. to Begin Border Wall Construction near Protesters Who Vow to Stop It

"This month, U.S. Customs and Border Protection announced it would begin construction of a wall-fence system running six miles along the border. The system would include a concrete wall that would stand up to an existing river levee and an 18-foot bollard fence on top. The project also calls for the removal of 150 feet of brush in what is considered an enforcement zone. The government would also include detection technology, lighting, an all-weather parallel road, and video surveillance. According to CBP, $145 million has already been awarded for the project..."

If you listen to Trump, he'll tell you that a wall will cure the drug problem, stop illegals and terrorists and make America great again. According to Trump, if we have a wall, we won't need anything else.

Actually, Trump DID close the southern border for a few hours. And, it cost a lot of communities a lot of money.

Did California's border closure cost $5.3M in economic loss?

During a recent visit to the U.S.-Mexico border, California’s Democratic Gov.-elect Gavin Newsom claimed the Trump administration’s temporary border closure last month cost $5.3 million in economic loss in the area and that future shutdowns could run into the billions of dollars.

U.S. border officials on Nov. 25 stopped all traffic for several hours at the San Ysidro Port of Entry, which serves as the gateway between Tijuana and San Diego. It’s the busiest land border crossing in the United States and among the busiest in the world.

The six-hour shutdown happened as migrants from Central America protested just south of the crossing. A group later rushed a border fence and were met with tear gas fired by U.S. border agents, who said some threw rocks at them.

Jan. 19 (UPI) -- Nearly 400 migrants who crossed a tunnel underneath a border wall in Arizona voluntarily turned themselves into authorities this week, U.S. Customs and Border Protection said.

A group of 376 migrants, comprised mostly of Guatemalan families and children seeking asylum, tunneled underneath the U.S.-Mexico border fence near Yuma, Ariz., just before noon Monday, the Arizona Republic reported. ABC News reported it was the largest group of asylum seekers to enter the U.S.

Customs and Border Protection officials released video footage Friday of the migrants walking along the U.S. side of the border fence and waiting in line for U.S. agents to process them for asylum.

Well, if they were successful that time, chances are, the cartels are going to get into the coyote business as well, because they are the ones with all the tunnels.

You know

that's fucking nonsense.

The more walls , fences, and other security you have the more people are FORCED to use the port of entries to try to get in, increasing our chances of catching them.

If what you said were true, we could just say "screw it" and not having anyone or anything patrolling between the ports of entry, because most of the people and drugs come in through the ports anyway right?

That's just basic security, you funnel security risks to a central point, or many central points, where you can concentrate your security forces to defeat them.

Again, we don't need a wall, we need more agents and better detection equipment at the ports of entry, not a wall. 80 percent of the drugs in America come through regular ports of entry in vehicles, not crossing some remote part of desert. Or, if they do cross the border where there is a wall, it come in via tunnels.

Part of the 5.7 billion includes better detection in the ports. Curious as to why you don't know this? The wall is a supplement to assist border security. Border agents say it will help.

Trump's plan isn't going to solve anything

The Trumpsters appaule him for ineffective infastructure , and will continue to do so at the SOTU addy, as well as into his 2nd term

Now if the man really had balls, he's have the military stage every 1/2 mile w/ machine gun nests, fire volley's 3 times a day, and throw a hispanic corpses (from local er's and morgs) every out in the sand ,etc

Don't tell me psy-ops is off the table

tunnels will always circumvent barriers.

it's not $5 billion & that's it. that's only a 'down payment'.

it would be great if mexico pays for it.

oh wait - that was a a big fat orange lie told to the dupes so they would vote for trump.

US prepares to start building portion of Texas border wall
Slowly but surely cutting off easy entry points for the invaders.
Your invaders come through your airports Francis, Don needs an empty trophy, like his wife for example. Never have a free people ever begged to be walled in by big govt, which here is nothing but concentrated corporate wealth/power. More coups in Latin and South America should help with your hysteria over migrants.
