Five South Carolina law enforcement officers have been shot, one fatally, and a suspect has been taken into custody according to officials.

Just before 5 p.m., Florence County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Chief Glenn Kirby said three sheriff’s deputies and two city of Florence police officers have been shot during an active shooting incident, WXTL reported.

Florence County Coroner Keith von Lutcken reported one of the officers died, according to WBTW, which reported another person other than the law enforcement officers was shot.
Kirby said a 20-year-old male inside the home was shot but is still alive, WBTW reported

I have not seen any kind of identification of the shooter yet. So I will not comment on that. However, since he was captured, we need to find out how and when he obtained the weapon or weapons he uses to kill. Also, what kind of warning signs did he give that might have led to recognition of the danger he posed? Could something been done in advance if there were red flags? We are losing far too many citizens to gun violence in this nation.

Shannon bream on Fox news just broke in with the following message: active shooter situation in Florence County, South Carolina. Five lawn Forssman officers have been shot. People are told to stay away from location of the shooting. This is breaking news and I will follow up as soon as they get more information.

Authorities said a suspect is in custody. The conditions of the wounded officers wasn't immediately known.

The Florence County Emergency Management Department tweeted that the "active shooting situation is over and the suspect is in custody."

After the 5th officer was shot, if I was there, the suspect wouldn't be in custody, but in a crematorium...

Oh and you can bet if the news people and others weren't around those five would be dead. Not waiting for hearings and then trial.
