Breaking news: The Russians asked for a secured line, not Kushner

Anybody else with a security clearance, attempting to set up a secret communication channel with the russians would be charged with espionage.

Really? Obama did it, when was he charged? W probably did too, wouldn't be surprised if Hillary and her old man did too.

FYI, President Obama, like President Trump, doesn't have a security clearance. Now recalculate that meme.

He doesn't need one.

According to a Fox News report from an unnamed source, it was not Kushner who broached the idea of a secured line to Moscow, but the Russians. Which kinda puts a little different spin on this whole imbroglio, which actually isn't a big deal in the 1st place considering how much information is being leaked to the media these days.

Yeah, I get it, unnamed source and a Fox News story. But the WaPo story is based on an anonymous letter; neither story has anything to confirm or deny any part of this incident. It's not like anyone with an ounce of integrity can say which story is right.

Jared Kushner didn't suggest Russian communications channel in meeting, source says
Great, so even Fox news confirms Kushner was working a backdoor deal with the Russians.

I take it that you know for a fact that Kushner agreed to that, or anything else? In which case it should be no problem for you to provide a link to where you got that information, other than an unnamed source or an anonymous letter. Otherwise I would have to conclude that you're full of shit.

We have the NSA intercept of the ambassador calling moscow. That he and Kusher agreed to use the embassy equipment to talk to moscow.

No matter who came up with the idea, we have the intercept of the result of the meeting.
"That he and Kusher agreed to use the embassy equipment to talk to moscow."

Really? Post it.

The other side has a lot more than some BULLSHIT anonymous letter--that Sean Hannity probably wrote.

The claim comes from intercepts of conversations between Russia's ambassador and Moscow. Kislyak reportedly told higher-ups in Moscow that Kushner suggested the proposal in a meeting at Trump Tower -- which former national security adviser Michael Flynn also attended -- in December. Kushner "suggested using Russian diplomatic facilities in the United States for the communications,"

I'll tell you FOX News has really turned into a bullshit media network. The Seth Rich conspiracy that they were forced to retract or get the pants sued off of them, and now this. A Tabloid magazine would be more credible that FOX News today.

FOX News is doing it for a reason. They OWN Donald Trump, and they know it. It was they that gave Trump an unprecedented 2 billion in free news coverage during the primaries while ignoring all other GOP candidates. And they're paying a very heavy price for it now.
But WHY is CNN crushing Fox News in the ratings?

So how much free publicity did cnn give Trump when they ran all his speeches live and then spent the next 24 hours or the next speech, beating him up about them? Come on skippy, give us a calculation on that.

Jerad Kushner (Trump's son in law) asked the Russian ambassader for a direct line to the Kremlin.

So Republicans have two options:
1. Remove Trump from office asap or
2. Burn the entire party down in 2018-2020 & beyond.

If Republicans can do 8 investigations into Benghazi--it's not hard to imagine what Democrats will do with Treason, Obstruction & Lies when they take over in 2018. You'll also get a great education into what that Emoluments clause in the Constitution is all about.

including the very day that Russians were hacking into DNC databases.

Considering hackers were in the DNC email for almost a year, what day was he referring to? I'm sure the drama queen Smith couldn't answer that question, can you?

What are some real facts here?

* Obama had back-channels to both the Cubans and Canada, and with Iran as well before being elected..

Dont' you mean President Obama had back-channels before being re-elected

No. Obama might have very well had back-channels to Iran during his reelection, but he also had a back-channel to Iran before being president. These are fairly common things and are used by Senators and the like. I'm not the expert here but those on committees like the Foreign Intelligence, etc., this is what they are reporting. Major countries are in constant communication at many levels in many ways and to imply that just doing so means something nefarious is plain silly, for the media to say it is for Trump's people is just their playing upon the ignorance of the public.

Flynn wasn't the NSA pre-inauguration. Seriously, you think Flynn could get into the Russian embassy without our side knowing? And he wouldn't know that? You sure do jump to all kinds of wild suppositions, don't you. And actually it answers NOTHING about who might have used such a system, which BTW never happened.

As you said, Flynn wasn't NSA, he was just a Trump associate. He could sneak into the Russian embassy.

It boggles the mind what your question is.

It boggles the mind what your points are.

You make unsubstantiated statement after statement, unwarranted conclusion after conclusion, things that go nowhere, things which make no difference, things which have already been addressed, explained and thoroughly refuted both elsewhere in this thread and on other threads, yet you either don't read them, dismiss anything which does not fit your agenda, are unwilling to do your own research from reliable sources so you get bad info and/or can dismiss the info others provide, or are just a brainless chicken that keeps on talking long after your head has been cut off because you just want to make the same point even if it has no point at all.

The main thing we have learned from this story is that our major news media is just not a reliable source for news. A few days ago, Bloomberg published a story that said the discussion was about a secure line for the Trump transition team to communicate with Russia about the situation in Syria, not for the Trump administration after the inauguration, which would make it a whole different story.

Have our major news outlets always been this unreliable and are we just becoming aware of it now or have then been forced by the Internet to publish any trash that will pay the bills?

What we know already:

What we already know Oreo is that you are nothing but a collector of fake news from any source you can put together to push a single-minded agenda that you selectively pick and choose from while ignoring any news source which does not fit in so you can believe what you want and try to peddle it off on others.

I don't pretend to know what to believe from these stories. This latest source is interesting mostly in the sense that it backs up story that there was something going on between Kushner and the Russians.

Agree.

Ridiculous to call it a back channel. It was a covert channel.

And we know of enough facts that it's plain there is no way they can pretend it's all innocent or circumstantial.

It would be hilarious to watch Luddite here act as an attorney....

Did you have any problem with CNN deliberately cheating and giving the debate questions to Hillary before the debate?

That's the only FACT regarding cheating in this election so far...

More on the back-channel scandal that Jared Kushner is some sort of Kremlin spy committing espionage because he was approached by Russia after Trump's election with an offer to create a back-channel between the countries to work out details to unofficially resolve issues between the countries before making them official to avoid bad press which was never even created that all started with accusations that Trump colluded with Putin to throw Hillary's election even though it was already over when the offer occurred:

(did you get all of that?)

* Jared Kushner is such an evil spy that even Teddy Roosevelt's daughter Alice on her way to the Pacific Rim took private messages to Japan as a back-channel to help end the Russo/Japan War.

* Both JFK and RFK used back-channels via Anatoly Dobrynin to help end the Cuban Missile Crisis.

* Nixon used back-channel discussions to end the Vietnam War.

Back-channels are a common and necessary tool used between governments to resolve things and get things done without the constant meddling of the media and public opinion, which otherwise, half the time might never get done, exactly for the reasons we see here as the ignorance and stupidity of a gullible public is exploited to sell papers and push false agendas.

My point is that it's ALL fake news, the bullshit story about collusion, the bullshit story about Kushner and this secured line to the Kremlin. There is not one bit of actual proof to back ANY of this shit up. .

The problem is that all the proof you want, and claim doesn't exist, is way above your pay grade. Most of it is Top Secret// ELINT

And there are plenty of known facts that make it impossible to pretend any longer that there's no there there.

What facts do we know?

We know Kushner did meet with a Russian banker
We know trump does a lot of business with Russia
We know trump is financed by Russia
The cheeto lies, every day
The entire trump klan is croôked
Money laundering
All of trumps minions lying

As for the "leaks", my bet is the source is trump. When he needs to take attention away from what he's doing, there's another "leak".
