[breaking] North Korean Leader Kim Jong Il, 69, Has Died

No one knows anything about Pol Pot other than the fact he was educated in France..

In theory what Pol Pot did makes no fucking sense considering he had absolutely ZERO reason to do what he did. His motivations are absolutely unknown.....

What the hell are you talking about?

Yes, norms relating to marriage do change

Fathers can no longer give away their daughters
Marriage is no longer till death do you part
Black people and white people can get married

The government must, by law, apply laws equally to all citizens. Other than personal biases against gays, there is no public interest in preventing people of the same sex from marrying

Personal abhorrence to homosexuality, or religious intolerance are no reason for the government not to acknowledge gay marriage

That's the whole purpose of legislation dummy.. You know the same legislation that is a state issue and that was put on a ballot and was rejected, then assfucks like yourself went running to the courts despite being passed via direct democracy..

Apparently society doesn't agree with you - even in the land of fruits and nuts...

The most painful part of prop 8 was the fact it was NOT voted on by politicians but rather through direct democracy, yet progressives didn't like the outcome and now say "fuck you democracy, I believe _________ therefore it should be in place."

Then progressives wonder why progressives only like them...

Geez...

Actually, society does agree with me and now more than 50% of Americans support gay marriage. It is now legal for ten percent of the country and growing.
You are now a dinosaur. A sad remnant to a past where this country hated homosexuals. Glad to see your kind disappearing

Apparently it doesn't considering Prop 8..

So you can play make believe all you'd like but it still wont change reality...

So keep on inventing delusions....

Besides, you obviously don't know the difference between marriage and civil unions.

...And you feel that way. You want the votes of metropolitan areas to have more weight than rural areas.

Trash Can Tickets In Queens

Does it look like you morons know what the hell you're doing? Hint: No.

One vote...one person.

Simple enough.

Majority wins.

Oh shut the fuck up.

Democrats don't even respect democracy and their record of voter fraud (such as ACORN registering pseudonyms) and running to the supreme court over ballot referendums such as proposition 8 or those fagot fucks up in Wisconsin who fled the state out of protest are just a few citations of my assertion.

Yea, an entire state full of voters were disenfranchised when a liberal activist judge threw out the voting results because the voters didn't do as they wanted. They want you to have rights, as in the right to do as they want you to do.

What you said, like so much of what you say, was pretty ridiculously uninformed.

Man, there's a scary thought.
Well, I support country first, party second, daveman. It's a tradition in my military family.
Damn shame not everyone feels that way, innit?
It's America, daveman. We have to let people coordinate their political feelings with what is best for them and pray that those in charge will do justly with mercy and humbly communicate their findings to their fellow Americans.

The press used to let the leaders speak.

Now, the press blogs their opinion in print and on the air as more important than those the people elect, unless the elected move when the press tilts the puppet strings. There are sweet sounds when things go their way. There are grating sounds when things don't go their way.

The people only know what they are told by the press. What they are actually hearing is filtered information from a 10th generation that has squandered the founder's gifts by telling people why a strong fed is good for them and Bill of Rights privileges are out-of-date with the times.

Well states can do as they see fit per the Tenth Amendment and the last time I checked marriage was a choice so..

As a libertarian I'm indifferent to civil unions. I believe communities should have the right to self govern and if gays (or anyone else for that matter) disagrees with the consensus than they can go where they're welcome..

A duck doesn't nest with a chicken, meaning people need to get in where they fit in.

Say what now?

Gay marriage rejected by all 31 U.S. states where it was put to vote as Maine gives legislation a thumbs down | Mail Online

That was 2009 and the tide is turning. Since then, New York has approved gay marriage. Within a decade, it will be the law of the land

53% now approve of gay marriage

Doesn't sound like much of a turning tide when every time the people have had the chance to vote on the issue directly they have rejected it. Sounds more like judicial fiat and misrepresentation.

No! I've been repeatedly assured that everything on ThinkProgress is absolute, Gaea's honest truth! :(

No one knows Pol Pots motives.......

I've read more than 10 books about the genocide and they're all filled with speculation...

I wouldn't even be comfortable labeling Pol Pot a communist, nor even a socialist...

Totalitarianism would be accurate but there is really no word to describe what happened. It's not clear what his motive or intent was and usually there is a premise behind such actions yet there is none behind Pol Pot.

I suppose that's what made him so fascinating to me.

Believe what you like..........

Pffft. The people need liberals to tell them what they want.

Did you even look at the link I so kindly provided? Since you are so proud of yourself for reading ten whole books (Wow!) maybe you could read just a little bit more?

You just keep revealing new depths to your stupidity.

The courts will eventually decide on the issue of gay marriage. It will be the law of the land within ten years

I'm a non-fiction reader...

Kinda weird because a lot of the shows I watch are sci-fi. Not that I watch much TV, most of the shows I like are defunct....

Besides wasn't he the author via pseudonym of that book McVeigh had - something diaries?

Why the fuck would I look at your link when I have read nearly a dozen books on Pol Pot???

Please explain that to me???

I know all about Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge. I don't need your fucking link...

You may as well say: "watch The Killing Fields."
