BREAKING: U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara has just been FIRED

Sessions is like Trump, an asshole who requires YES MEN - They want absolute control and the only way to have that is to hire obsequious underlings.

It is unfortunate that Ryan's personal ambition prevents him from putting Country First - his first question when faced with a difficult situation is always to ask himself, "how will this effect ME"!

And when clinton fired all the attorneys? He didn't want yes men...you moron....and obama...who packed the courts and the Department of Justice with left wing assholes......?

Theyre hacks. They were fine with clinton firing all the bush attorneys. Now, they scream like petulant school children when a r does it to them. Lol.

Clinton didn't fire them all at once like Trump did. Clinton phased in their replacements over a span of many months

Initially I see this firing as another victory for big banks and Wall Street. But I'm open to change that impression upon learning who'll replace him. Heck only last week if you'd have asked me who Bharara was I would have answered he was a cartoonist. You know, Hanna-Bharara. I'm glad nobody asked.

As I said, this could be a Sessions coup. Under the current law, vacancies in the US Attorney are filled by interim appointees made by the Attorney General, without senate confirmation. And filled permanently by nominees made by the President, with the advice and consent of the senate. The usual process is to fill US Attorneys with presidential nominees. Sessions who recused himself from the Trump/Russian investigations just stocked the swamp.

Found another thread praising Bharara for "investigating" Clinton:

The Man Investigating the Clinton Foundation

So? The President can fire them at will.

Which is why the US is fucked.

Nope, the Pres should always get the people they want in positions like this, that is why there is no advice and consent involved.

The thing is --- Bharara IS the person the POTUS wanted.

>> ALBANY — Donald Trump, if he wins the election on Tuesday, is seriously considering asking crusading Manhattan U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara to stay on, a senior campaign official told the Daily News.

"He has a very high regard for him," the official said. "Obviously it's caught his attention what (Bharara's) done in New York. It's the same approach Mr. Trump would like to bring to Washington."

Bharara, since being appointed by President Obama in 2009, has made public corruption a key focus, bringing down elected officials from both parties, including former state Assembly Democratic Speaker Sheldon Silver and ex-state Senate GOP Majority Leader Dean Skelos. He currently has ongoing investigations into the administrations of Gov. Cuomo and Mayor de Blasio. << --- NYDN

Whelp --- once elected, Rump and Sessions did indeed ask him to stay on. And Bharara agreed. And that was that.

Until now. What happened?

Oopsie --- Watchdogs Ask US Attorney to Investigate Rump's Foreign Business Deals --- you know, the ones that might show up in, say, tax returns?

That was Wednesday (3/8). The next day, Thursday:

>> The call to Preet Bharara’s office from President Trump’s assistant came on Thursday. Would Mr. Bharara, the United States attorney in Manhattan, please call back? He did not.

... It was unclear whether the president’s call on Thursday was an effort to explain his change of heart about keeping Mr. Bharara or to discuss another matter. The White House would not comment on Saturday.

However, there are protocols governing a president’s direct contact with federal prosecutors. According to two people with knowledge of the events who were not authorized to discuss sensitive conversations publicly, Mr. Bharara notified an adviser to the attorney general, Jeff Sessions, that the president had tried to contact him and that he would not respond because of those protocols. << -- NYT

You don't call a US Attorney when your own campaign is under DOJ investigation. If the call was about firing him --- that ain't Rump's job. Doesn't look good.

Bharara also busted a Russian spy ring in 2015. Oops again.

Doesnt matter. Clinton fired them.

It does matter, because it's not the same thing. There's no sense of urgency in phasing out a bunch of people gradually. Rump's dump was immediate --- like, "today".

Why the rush? Aye, there's the rub. Rump is skeered.

Nope. Doesn't matter at all. It didn't bother you when O was firing them also.

Not on the same day.

And not when one was just called on to investigate his foreign business dealings in part because Clinton wouldn't release his tax returns.

Oh yeah it matters. When the elephant enters the room, things have to move.

Obama replace them, phasing them in like Clinton. Just for example, the US Attorney for the southern district of NY wasn't replaced until August 13th 2009.

Trump hasn't named a replacement, before firing them, or vacating the positions.

Excellent. Hopefully this gives the others an incentive to resign. It probably won't. So expect to see this becoming a common trend with the Trump administration.......

If you work fir the Government butwon't do as your told by your BETTERS; find yourself another job.

Justices are supposed to be "non-Partisan". This is just more PARINOIA coming out of Comrade Trump.

What he still hasn't figured out, is that these leaks are coming from Barack Obama, someone they can't fire--LOL

Obama ordered the Russian investigation to be done BEFORE he left office. Several reports state that Obama "preserved/protected evidence" as it contained "damming evidence." Meaning he is not going to turn it over to FBI director, James Comey, who is also under investigation for his interference into this election, and he certainly wouldn't have turned it over to Republicans who would have squashed it.
DOJ to Investigate James Comey and the FBI

"The New York Times, citing former American officials, reported that these officials were concerned that the information they were gaining on the Russian meddling in the election and the possible campaign contact could be compromised with the new administration, and they wanted to set up any future investigation with the information.

According to The Times, after Obama asked for an investigation into Russian tampering into the elections, officials found some "damning" evidence.

A former intelligence official confirmed to Fox News that the Obama administration was determined to keep the Russian issue alive and data on Moscow's election interference was circulated broadly."
Obama administration reportedly raced to preserve intelligence on possible contact between Russians and Trump associates

So he waits patiently for one of them to lie under oath--(Flynn first, Sessions second) and out pops another leak to prove their lying. He'll continue to do this until Democrats take over in 2018 and then he'll release the Kracken on the Trump administration. And in the process, he'll take the entire Republican party down with Trump in 2018, 2020 & beyond--with Treason, Obstruction and Coverup.
