BYU Honor Code victimizes rape victims

But if a woman wearing a mini skirt and revealing top. Is out late at night alone and walking that same street drunk and gets raped.
People want to absolve her of any blame.
When in reality, the rape was her own fault. ......

Like I said, with the way you think, any woman around you would be in a bad situation.

Did the woman break the rule meant to protect her? Yes or no?

I find it hard to not notice that the guy who raped her is violating more than some school honor code.

All rapists need to be arrested and thrown in prison.

But women in many cases have willingly put themselves in situations that help facilitate the rape. And thus also need to be held accountable for their actions and behavior. .......

Her breaking the FIRST rule enabled him to break the law. Now ass wipe did she break the rule? Yes or no? HINT: Its in the article.

Did she break the rule and endanger herself? You to COWARD to reply?

She did not aid and abet anything.

She said, 'no', and anyone who dicourages reporting of rape, is anti-American.
Consider what would have happened to her if she had been caught without being raped. When a person goes hiking in violation of orders to stay out of a dangerous area, then requires rescue after being injured, charges are brought against them regardless of their injuries. In this case, the girl gets punished, but the boy should go to jail.

The real question remains, should a person NOT face consequences for violating regulations DESIGNED TO PREVENT INJURY if they are injured while doing so?

The majority of rapes occur because the woman willingly put herself into a bad situation. .....
I do not agree with that. Women do need to be smart and avoid dangerous situations, but a rapist is an opportunist who attacks when he thinks a woman is vulnerable, NOT just because a woman puts herself in danger.

Which woman and which rule are you talking about?

The woman who was held captive over night by some sleaze bag who violated the rule to not be out all night?

She violated a rule.
He violated the law.
BOTH should be punished accordingly.

So the woman who was kidnapped should be punished for staying out all night?

Okey dokey

Would she be punished for not staying out all night if she had not been kidnapped? If not, then no.

Accordingly being the operative term. IOW, his punishment should be much, much greater than hers.

Now we agree. She picks another school and he goes to prison.

Making out with some guy in a room is not justification or an invitation to rape.

If she was walking around the campus naked it would not have been a justification for rape even if it violated a dress code.

How do you think she should be punished?

Should the rapist receive a lesser charge because she violated school policy?

I think being raped by a misogynist pig is punishment enough.
