Consumption isn't hard to say. EVERY person that receives social welfare does not pay the taxes that fund it. Every person receiving social welfare funded at the State level does not pay the taxes that fund it.

Who owned corporations in the '50s? Most corporations were family owned or closely held by a very small investor class. At that time, paying corporate taxes was a way to avoid the damage of a much higher income tax rate.

Who owns corporations now? Most corporations are stock owned. That means you own them, I own them, your grandmother owns them, your pension plans own them. All your nonsensical proposal to increase corporate taxes accomplishes is to penalize the retirement programs, and small investors.

You are proposing double taxation. The corporation makes $1 in profit. The corporation has to pay 20% taxes on that $1. Then, the remaining $0.80 (of already taxed dollars) are distributed as capital gains. That remaining $0.80 (of already taxed dollars) distributed to your mother is taxed again, and now your mom only gets $0.65 of the profit. The government gets $0.35 and your grandmother gets $0.65.

Why do you insist on taxing her twice? Your grandfather worked himself into an early grave to get her some kind of subsistence in her old age, and you want to take it away from her.

TO me work is physical labor. Muscle, sweat and fatigue are the ingredients of WORK. Trump has always been privileged and had other people to do any WORK he needed done.. If someone works three jobs and can't get ahead, it's not that they are making too little but spending too much. When you have $20,000/year skills you can't live a $200,000 year lifestyle.

If someone hasn't received an increase in pay in a couple of years yet they stay where they are, it's their fault. If they're so good at what they do, why don't they become the boss and start their own business.

Stop being silly. If you make $20,000 a year it is impossible to live a $200,000 a year lifestyle. A family of 4 is impoverished if their income is 20,000. And their kids will have to go to school wearing second hand clothing and worn shoes. They will have to suffer all the indignations other more affluent kids heap upon them. If they do graduate from high school, college is out of the question unless they get an academic or athletic scholarship. But all too often, the damage done by poverty has already taken it's toll and the kids drop out to become fringe elements in an unsympathetic society.

That being said I want to make it clear that I am not talking about Black kids only. The face of poverty in America is White.
