Capitalism exists to oppress the bottom and protect the top - change my mind

Your OP/Opening Post, presents eight items you think are facts, but you present no documentation, data or sources to support such. It appears you have made this up.

As we continue through this thread you confuse wealth with money and it's clear you neither understand the concepts, nor basic economics.

I've things to do and places to go today, so can't linger, but there are other threads here with better information and less propaganda then what you have presented and are working from.
Which one do you have an issue with?

I’m not advocating socialism or Communism. It’s a common ruse to assign that motivation to anyone asking if there is a more fair way to manage a free market economy than having so many breaks that drive wealth into the top tier only. There has to be a way to drive more fairness without “stealing” or making everyone broke.
As per usual, the definition and understanding of the differences between socialism and communism are completely misunderstood. Take a PoliSci 101 class.

Inequity is growing because more people are becoming successful while the others are getting lazier. It has nothing to do with capitalism and everything to do with personal decisions in life.
I think that’s a bit of a lazy argument - no offense. Your parents generation thought yours was nuts too. Each generation is smarter and more accomplished. I went to UF and UMich for my degrees 25 years ago and I couldn’t compete with those kids today.

Anti-Capitalist North Korea and Cuba have been smashing successes
They probably aren’t the models to emulate then. Do you think our system is flawless and can’t be improved to produce more success for more people?

There is no other alternatives. If you don't support Capitalism then you support socialism or authoritarianism.
The critics of Capitalism are like crabs.
They keep pulling everyone (who tries to leave socialism behind) back into the muck.

It not a surprise that millions want to come to America to fleece us of our wealth....and it's no surprise that people like Obama and Biden make it happen.
They've got theirs.......that's all they're concerned with.
Stealing from us makes them rich as shit.

We are in a current situation where the workers at the bottom cannot get a raise of share in the economy without those in power taking it back from them.
  • The rising wages at the bottom are seen as an evil trend destabilizing the economy
  • Company profit margins being higher than ever (basically rising wages at the top) is seen as economically healthy and good
  • Companies have raised prices to protect profit margins to historical highs during supply issues taking advantage of shortages in the marketplace is seen as good
  • The Uber wealthy continue to accumulate wealth in tough pandemic times and good times (pre and post pandemic) and no one cares
  • The answer from those in power will be to raise interest rates, slow the economy to create unemployment hurting the bottom, again
  • Tax rates on workers and capital continue to favor capital owners
  • Unrealized wealth is only accumulated by the top - hell wealth is only accumulated at the top where top 10% own 89% of the wealth
  • CEOs are making a historical multiplier over their workers salary, north of 270X’s

I owe my livelihood to capitalism and make top 1% money but it is the systemic exploitation of the bottom through very powerful controls of capital at the top. There needs to be a more balanced playing field.

How can people who work with their way through life get the same breaks as those who own their way through life? No one wants to take shit away… they want a fair shake.

The producers in this nation…or ‘capitalists’ can no longer outrun the growth / expansion of that bottom feeding underclass you love…the one you cultivate. You can’t beg all of Mexicos trash to invade our nation and then believe us legitimate folks can stay ahead of the parasites.

That’s hilarious. Leftards have destroyed our healthcare system with your socialist crap. Then you blame capitalism for it.

2 million illegals a year vote that capitalism gives the best opportunity for the poor to succeed.

And myself as well. I grew up in poverty (the American version) and retired in my 50’s a multimillionaire.

God Bless capitalism.
That’s doesn’t make sense. If you have a solution l’ll listen but the board is replete with other threads barking political nonsense. Chose one of them.

Exactly.
Those who contribute the majority of surplus labor to production deserve democratic workplaces.

Those who contribute the majority of surplus labor to production deserve democratic workplaces.

You should definitely vote for that in your workplace.
Keep us all up to date on your progress.

You began your comment with a sentence that is nearly completely false. There is no such thing as "upper classes", merely the lucky of birth or circumstance. It is also rare indeed that they started with nothing. There is such a thing as the 1% of the 1% and it does not necessarily reflect upon the hardest workers. Anyone may prosper in America but achieving the wealth and status of the average 1% is most definitely not attainable simply by hard work and honest values. Regardless of any human's beginnings, attaining the status of the 1% still requires requires the standard operational procedures of criminality wrought with the tools of the 1%er trade.

I interpret your middle and last sentences as an implied direct attack on me and I further construe that you have no idea what you are talking about regarding effort or education and/or rationalizing your own desires, methods and work ethics.

In summary, regarding your comment...total bull shit.
Sure, after totally rewording my post, then reinterpreting what you've reworded. You don't determine the time of day by reading the weather report. I can go over your response with a divining rod and never detect what I wrote.

Why does the anti-capitalist argument persist among hypocrites who enjoy the benefits of capitalism? Maybe the hypocrite socialists account for the dwindling 30% of support for Biden. Nothing else makes much sense.
Any benefits from capitalism accrue to fewer and fewer working families as the fraud and corruption of finance capitalism takes over from the porcine greed its industrial cousin.

It makes exactly no sense to ignore the effects of white collar crime:

These Charts Show the Wealth Devastation to U.S. Investors from Wall Street’s Unchecked Corrupt Practices

"Systemically corrupt practices on Wall Street in derivatives and subprime debt brought about the financial crash of 2008, the worst since the Great Depression, which was summed up by the Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission (FCIC) report as follows:

"'The profound events of 2007 and 2008 were neither bumps in the road nor an accentuated dip in the financial and business cycles we have come to expect in a free market economic system.'

"'This was a fundamental disruption—a financial upheaval, if you will—that wreaked havoc in communities and neighborhoods across this country.'

"'As this report goes to print, there are more than 26 million Americans who are out of work, cannot find full-time work, or have given up looking for work.'

"'About four million families have lost their homes to foreclosure and another four and a half million have slipped into the foreclosure process or are seriously behind on their mortgage payments.'

"'Nearly $11 trillion in household wealth has vanished, with retirement accounts and life savings swept away. Businesses, large and small, have felt the sting of a deep recession.'"

Most people are poor thanks to bad decisions they made or that were made for them

People make a mess of their lives and then use capitalism as the excuse for their condition
All things being equal the outcome for the working class is worse than ever. That isn’t because workers are lazy. We are talking about workers not non-workers. Workers can’t get into the middle class like they used to - it’s in all the statistics. That is because wages haven’t risen in worker jobs to accommodate getting to the middle class. There has to be a better way.

Yes, there is. They’re called Unions.

You’re free to leave anytime.
Meanwhile 2 million illegals with nothing but the shirts on their backs cross our border.
Maybe you should build a wall to help those fools from entering oppression filled Amerkkka.
Great.
He asks a question.
And you come back with strawman and xenophobic cowardice.

So noted.

Bye now.

I know very well the difference. Both of those terms get thrown at anyone advocating our current system is flawed. Most right wingers just use it as a general slam. I am not advocating abandoning capitalism for Kumbaya.

Meh. Your all or nothing view is part of the issue in politics these days. One can be critical of capitalism without asking for the country to embrace hippy commune life. I am asking if we can more effectively balance the wealth distribution fairly so the only people who win aren’t just the tippy top? Are you suggesting there is no way a capital economy can be fair?

I think what your problem seems to be that people who earned their money you think they should share it with the rest of us.

At the same time you totally ignore the fact that people who are in government stealing from us are sharing our money with millions of illegal immigrants.
