The Republicans would have no ticket for the election if Trump steps down.

If they wanted Pence to replace him, he would have to qualify to run for president in every state, almost all of which have deadlines in September for qualifying. That window is closed.

It is either Trump or no ticket at this point. Unless Republicans in Congress attempt some coup where they would try to usurp those state laws by the federal government or postpone the election. Either way it will be illegal.

Alaska’s 2 GOP Senators Call For Trump To Drop Out

Both of Alaska’s Republican senators called for Donald Trump to drop out of the presidential race on Saturday, condemning in strong terms the predatory comments about women that the Republican nominee made in a tape released Friday.

Sen. Dan Sullivan (R) was first to issue a statement calling for Trump to “step aside” and offering support for his running mate, Indiana Gov. Mike Pence (R), according to the Alaska Dispatch News.

Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R) followed up a few minutes later on Twitter, saying that Trump “forfeited the right to be our party’s nominee.”
