He’s back: Obama appoints former regulatory czar Cass Sunstein to NSA oversight panel

8/27/13

You may remember Cass Sunstein from his days as the Obama Administration regulatory czar, but now he is back in a job that should scare any American concerned about privacy. Just what is Sunstein, who Glenn once labeled “the most dangerous man in America,” up to now?

Yesterday, President Obama appointed Sunstein to serve on the NSA oversight panel. This appointment is particularly interesting when you consider that, in 2008, Sunstein co-wrote a paper at Harvard advocating government infiltration of conspiracy theorists.

With that mindset, one can only imagine what kind of ‘oversight’ Sunstein will offer the NSA.

...

“And here he is, Cass Sunstein, the guy who says it’s the government’s responsibility to lie to you. These aren’t my words. These are his word. I’m paraphrasing, but these are his words,” Glenn said. “He says it is the government’s responsibility that if you see somebody that is coming out against a government program, you immediately say ‘conspiracy theorist’ and you immediately label them as a conspiracy theorist.”

...

“And that’s all it is,” Glenn concluded. “Cass Sunstein is a power hungry man. He believes he knows better than you, and the progressives know better than you, and so he will show them how to trap you.”
