Citizens open fire on Cleveland Police

Has the "right" demanded equal justice under the law? Has the "right" protested in the streets against police brutality, favoritism in our courts, profiling, and the use of excessive force by members of law enforcement?

No. They have, in fact, cheered it on.

Cleveland police respond to call of multiple people waving guns. They arrive. One runs. They chase...and trade shots with him. During the pursuit....multiple fine citizens opened fire on the cops.

1- Wonder why Cleveland police would ever take calls like "person waving gun" so seriously?
2- We need to demilitarize our cops...they dont face urban gunfights like the military does
We need law and order. We need safe peaceful streets. We need public-service-minded members of law enforcement. We need justice in our judicial system. We need to enforce laws equally across the board. We need equal punishment for equal crimes. We need members of law enforcement to respect the rights of citizens. We need to get trouble makers off our streets. We need to get gangs and illegal drugs off our streets. We need to hold everyone accountable for their actions, everyone.

We do NOT need out-of-control members of law enforcement. We do NOT need favoritism in out judicial system and court rooms. We do NOT need citizens waving guns on our streets. We do NOT need citizens taunting and unnecessarily challenging members of law enforcement. We do NOT need angry citizens with guns, imposing their misconduct on our communities and on members of law enforcement.

When we blame, we should blame everyone, both sides, for what is now common headlines all across this nation. Our streets are not safe, our communities are not safe, and the manner in which we're attempting to correct the situation, is producing more violence and contempt for members of law enforcement. We've allowed and encouraged rogue police action, thus creating an unsafe, uncivil, and tragic set of circumstances to develop between John Q. Public and law enforcement agencies.

We have allowed the situation to escalate to a point where it's almost war between ordinary citizens and members of law enforcement. In a sense, and it would be hard to argue the point, our judicial system and court rooms have provided the perfect atmosphere and set of circumstances for what we're seeing and experiencing on our streets today. Judicial favoritism breeds contempt, mistrust, anger, and uncivil actions by those wronged. The present situation on our streets will not improve until we fix and correct the wrongs in our court rooms and the entire judicial system. Everyone must be accountable for their actions, and equal justice must be enforced. Everyone should be held accountable and forced to obey all laws, and that includes members of law enforcement.
"Everyone should be held accountable and forced to obey all laws, and that includes members of law enforcement." That is, really, the only thing that needs to be said.
Ya cause charging 3 cops for arresting a guy that broke the law and later died under someone else's care is justice right?
What law was he charged with breaking?

That would depend on the circumstances. If the death was caused by unnecessary force, police brutality, or other misconduct on the part of law enforcement, then it's a case of murder.
Well except the three white cops only arrested the man for an ILLEGAL knife, they delivered him to the truck where 2 officers both black took charge of him. A third black Sgt checked on him later. At no time were the three white cops responsible for his condition in the vehicle. Yet the DA charged them with a false arrest even though the arrest was legal and proper.
I guess they now know what it feels like to be arrested and charged without any reason for that to happen. They are getting a taste of what happens to young black men every day. And it has not been determined if the arrest was lawful or not. It is pretty clear that the knife he possessed did not fit the definition of an illegal knife in either the state or city law, despite what defense counsel has argued. I do find it odd how, in this case, there is this tremendous respect for criminal defense lawyers. If they were representing young black men, that respect would be missing.

I can't disagree with any of the above....except for the word "we."

It is the fault of the Left that said problems arose and have been amplified.
Well, please tell me exactly what the "right" has done to make the situation better? Has the "right" demanded equal justice under the law? Has the "right" protested in the streets against police brutality, favoritism in our courts, profiling, and the use of excessive force by members of law enforcement? Has the "right" attempted to get drugs and gangs off our streets? Has the "right" protested on the streets concerning poverty, unemployment, and slum neighborhoods? Has the "right" begged the president and members of Congress to address the injustices in out judicial system, to stop the illegal drugs at our borders, and to go after gangs? Please tell me what the "right" has done that the "left" hasn't done. Thanks.

The Right isn't in charge, or power, and hasn't been in some time.

Pick up a paper some time.

Do you think the current GOP is 'the Right'?
The "right" is NOT in charge? Do we have members, citizens, of this nation that are considered as "right"? Why aren't they in charge? What's keeping them from being in charge? What is the "right" doing to correct wrongs? Is the "right" protesting in the streets, holding rallies, passing out petitions, asking for prime-time TV coverage, and marching on Washington a la MLK? If not, why not? Is the "right" a passive "right"? Is the "right" organizing protests to camp on the steps of the Capitol, and plan to call Congress out into the street? Just what in hell is the "right" doing?

FYI - I read the paper, several of them. The first thing that I do each morning while having my coffee is read the news. I know what's going on in this country, and have known for many years now. Hell, one can't help but know what's going on, it's camped outside our doors, sitting on our porch.

Also, I couldn't care less about the GOP, or any other political party. They're all the same, all crooks, all selling their souls, and all puppets for anyone that can afford their price. Wake up and smell the coffee. Use some common sense and simple logic. Do you not know that legislation and policy is for sale, and is sold on the floors of Congress and in the oval office?
Look up American Spring.........that was the Right in action.

Justice is not the result, it is the process. Those officers will have justice. It may mean they are acquitted; it may mean they are convicted. Whatever happens to them will happen after a process where their rights will be scrupulously protected. Freddie Gray did not have justice. There was no process that was completed before what happened to him happened to him. He was denied due process.

He was not.

if this war keeps up right thru election night, guess they will be too busy shooting each other on election night,,,so lets call Ohio for Rubio !!!

This is the USA, did the cops think that people would lay down for a good old fashioned screwin'?
So you condone this?
may as well put 24/7 cameras in cleveland and baltimore, then put them on a cable channel, hey, something to watch when there isnt anything exciting to watch at night. but what should we call the channel?

I don't think I'm going out on limb by guessing this kind of thing will become more frequent.

Yes. It was 100% an ambush.

Cops can be trained by professionals who are experts in how to handle an armed ambush. BUT....those experts are mostly military. And we sure dont wanna militarize police.

Your certainty is only dwarfed by your ignorance. You have no idea if it was an ambush. They received a call about several people firing guns. They saw one and gave chase, leaving the others with guns out there. You take these isolated incidents; incidents that have always occurred, and now try to fit them into your ridiculous lies about the President.
