Only the gun confiscation whack jobs are on board with these new STUPID, KNEE JERK laws. Anyone that is willing to admit the truth about what is driving these violent actions know that attacking law abiding citizens and infringing on the second amendment WON'T - DO - SHIT, to stop it.

In modern right-wing American rhetoric, the word "patriot" can be translated as "nationalist."

I'll let all of you consider previous regimes in history that relied heavily upon nationalism.

So you're into word games aye... ok... I'll play... the word "liberal" can be translated as "communist."

Anyone who believes BHO is a Kenyan or a socialists or a Marxist or an illegal resident is (1) mentally feeble, (2) ignorant, (3) malignantly motivated, or a combination of any of 1 to 3.

The nutjobs of the reactionary wacky right no longer dictates what the GOP does nationally.

Those sappy unhappy daze are over.

Way to keep the conversation on a low, stupid level. You right wingers are dependable, if nothing else . . .

Makes a good point about the drone policy.

Don't want to be a cynic, but I genuinely doubt the sincerity of the Obama administration on these gun laws.

I base that opinion off the fact that he's not exactly the 'king of human rights' and the 'spokesmen for the preservation of innocent life'. If you doubt this, talk to a Pakistani student who had their school blown up by one of our Flying Death Machines.

In a way we're all responsible because it's our tax dollars that pays for it.

I guess Obama does not believe in a personal right of ownership, but he is an incrementalist who believes more in voting that judges. However, I also think his emotions after Newton were sincere.

Yea, I’m not going as far as saying he had fake tears or anything, lol, I’m just saying that either Obama is either (a) extremely dumb or (b) blindly pushing his party’s agenda because these laws they’re suggesting really don’t make a whole lot of sense from logical perspective.

I don’t think he’s dumb .

If you want to put an end to gun violence, why start with banning the type of weapon that’s involved in 0.1% of all gun homicides across the US? This enormous 'anti-assault rifle' campaign is a real slap in the face to all the innocent inner cities kids who've been getting gunned down for decades in droves by handguns. That's where the gun violence is, period.

Also, how are stricter background check laws supposed to somehow curb a deranged kid from getting a hold of his parent’s weapons? Shouldn’t we instead address issues like mental health, being responsible with guns, ect?

It's laws that do nothing but affect law-abiding citizens.

Anyways…

Imo, it's just political. The younger voters get, the less hunting and large capacity blasting interests them, esp with immigrant groups. I suspect Obama views the BOR as not prohibiting an outright ban on all firearms, but even at the most extreme only laws like Conn's are possible. You're just gonna see a supermajority supporting shotguns, revolvers and single stack pistols. Obama knows it. But, this is just another issue to isolate the gop to an aging population that is largely rural.

But, if you eliminate 20 round and more magazines, Sandy Hook becomes more difficult to pull off, so I don't see the horror. Of course it'd make more sense to use cops to check up on psychiatric reports of homocidal ideations, but imagine the cry if Obama suggested moving DEA assets. Ill is finally moving towards adding three years mandatory time to any crime involving a firearm. Imagaine.

“The first time I ever met him, I went, introduced myself, he said, ‘Oh, you’re the gun guy,’” Lott recalled. “He said to me, ‘I don’t believe people should be able to own guns.’”

Ingraham stopped the interview to clarify that Obama wasn’t talking about criminals owning guns but everyday citizens.

“No, it was very clear,” Lott said. “He said, ‘I don’t believe people should be able to own guns.”

You know, I agree with a lot of that.

One thing I need to add though (if you know of other facts please feel free to point out), it sounds like ONLY handguns were used in the Sandy Hook shooting:

NBC Admitted: No 'Assault Rifle' Used in Newtown Shooting | Independent Journal Review

I mean, being logical one would assume (given the resources of our gov’t) this sort of thing was likely determined within the first day of the shooting. How come we still hear Obama talking AR-15’s? At the very least it's extremely sleazy. But at the worst kind of fishy, you know?

This is the kind of stuff that really, really gets me mad.

Of the three guys I'm friends with, and who aren't guys at my gym or work, I'm the only one w/o an "assault rifle." LOL. By that I simply mean pistol grip and takes a magazine of 20 or more. I actually stocked up on 13 round 9mm magazines back with the Brady Bill. Not that I object to 10 rounds, but I only put 11 in the 13 magazines. If I went down to seven, I'd want to go back to a .357 or .45, and I've got arthritis issues.

So, I think the magazine capacity thing can be overdone ... and is in Conn. A 9mm with a 300 pound intruder with a winter jacket ....

And, a guy with a seven round semi auto 12 gauge can do a number on a classroom.

But, still it makes no sense to me to go to the wall for 20 round magazines and opposing more background checks. Is that a real solution? Of course not. And it does nothing for the maj of murders that are urban.

But, enhanced sentencing and severe mental health screening really need pushing. The NRA missed the boat, of course so did Bloomberg.
