Company offers to build 234 miles of border wall for $1.4 billion

Is that company called Mexico?

Jesus fucking Christ.

:banghead:
Yea, all this time I was told mexico was paying for this wall and I keep seeing taxpayers having to pay for it.....

by the way, when is Trumpcare rolling out?

Mexico has already paid for it. It still requires Congress to direct funds to spend it. Since they were bought off by Mexican drug cartels, the President is doing it.

A U.S. company is offering to build 234 miles of President Trump's border wall for just $1.4 billion, a fraction of the $8 billion the Trump administration is hoping to use for that project.

Fisher Sand and Gravel Company's President and CEO Tommy Fisher said the government is overpaying and that for $4.31 billion, he can build the wall and incorporate paved roads and border technology plus warranty.

"Our whole point is to break through the government bureaucracy," Fisher told the Washington Examiner. "If they do the small procurements as they are now … that’s not going to cut it."

Of the $8 billion Trump is hoping to spend, he already has $1.375 billion of that amount from Congress, which can only be used to build fencing in the Rio Grande Valley. Trump is seeking to repurpose another $3.1 billion in defense funding for more border wall and $3.6 billion more through his emergency declaration that Congress and the courts will challenge.

Fisher said that the roughly $1.4 billion is enough to build 20 miles of levee wall in the Rio Grande Valley, plus another 214 miles. That pot of money, however, can only be used in the Rio Grande Valley, according to the bill Congress passed approving those funds and was only expected to be used for about 55 miles of steel slat fencing.

The Army Corps of Engineers is not ready to start looking at how to spend the $8 billion that Trump is hoping to spend on the wall, a representative told the Washington Examiner last week. The corps is considering how to spend money Congress gave DHS last fiscal year and has not requested bids from the private sector because it's still in the procurement process.

Replacement and new wall projects have struggled to get underway in Trump's first two years in office. Just 35 miles of wall have gone up in that time. The Army Corps of Engineers has procured around 75 miles but has not awarded $900 million for the project of the $1.35 billion that was in the 2018 omnibus.

DHS officials and several lawmakers are expected to visit the site of his border wall construction site in Arizona next week.

Hey big feds! Give ME $1 billion! I’ll build your wall too :lmao:

Donald Trump captured the imagination of many American voters with a single campaign promise. “I will build a great, great wall on our southern border,” he boasted in June 2015. For good measure, he added, “And I will have Mexico pay for that wall.” The twin pledges-which followed a tirade about Mexican rapists and drug dealers-neatly captured everything that was either attractive or repulsive to voters in the real estate mogul’s presidential run: bravado, nationalism, and controversy.

Why the Wall Won't Work

You would keep nagging your 4 month pregnant wife about where the baby was if you weren't stopped by those smarter than you.

Some things take time.

Maybe you are premature with everything you do.

You haven't the bona fides.

and you can't really build the wall, without building the roads for the trucks and equipment for it... so the $1.4 billion is kind of deceiving... imo

Whose name is on his successful company?

His name is.

Not yours.

Don't try to tell him his business.

And if I'm not mistaken, he said the $1.4 Bn INCLUDES the money for the roads.

I saw them on the news yesterday. Thought it was an interesting proposal.

lol

Now just 1,766 more miles to go!

Conservatives are as stupid as they are bigoted.

Too funny.

The cost of buying the land and the cost of all the eminent domain lawsuits on the 234 miles of private land is not calculated in to that figure yet, is it? Or is this state or federal land already?
If it is Federal land, only the low hanging fruit is being picked.

Is that company called Mexico?

No, Mexico is the company who is sending all its workers to take jobs away from African Americans. Mexico is the company who is sending its kids to US schools to also dilute educational funds that arent stolen by the Teachers Union... so that African American kids and other poor get less. Mexico is the company who sends its people on medical trip across the border to fill ER rooms, have babies and dillute funds needed by African Americans and other poor americans of whatever racial background.

If you figure the African American population is about 40 million or so... and the illegal alien population is at least that.. ( I dont buy the 11 million figure) because workers settle here, then send for their immediate families, then then their brothers and sisters and their immediate families ... as any normal person would want to do. But in the end, who suffers the most? poor Americans .... so by all means Biff, lets not build a wall! let drug cartels keep on financing the mobilization of caravans north!.. theres lots of jobs here African Americans dont need that the Mexico and Honduras Companies can do better.

Nope,

Right in your op post it says $4.3 billion is the cost with the roads included.

Go for it. Steal more land from US citizens, Trash the local environments. Waste more tax dollars. But that would not be Trump's 35-45' concrete wall.

No need for private $.......the President will be building the wall with public monies that have already been earmarked.

Lets face it......at this point, I think the talk has to turn to, what are we going to call the wall? It needs a name.....a Trumpian name!

Any suggestions?

Trump can come up with that

How many miles will that leave? Should make it much easier to patrol
